The Windermere Estate Hotel Description

Windermere Estate is located at the junction of the manicured tea gardens and the lush green forests of Western Ghats. Hallmarked for its exclusiveness and high range hospitality, Windermere is a 60 acre cardamom plantation.

Rooms
The sprawling estate resort has a total of 3 rooms. The farm House is a split level building of five cozy rooms with a large communal veranda and an interacting room, a wooden floored dining room and balcony with a view of the mountains. The Valley View rooms are set in verdant gardens with a lavish veranda and typical plantation home interior with a view of the Chithirapuram valley. The Cottages are large with an area of 600 square feet each. Even the king sized beds, the huge bathroom and heavy furniture leave enough space to swing a few hats. The huge window frames do justice to the picture perfect mountains beyond.

Dining
The resort has 4 different dining options in the resort. The Pine Top restaurant is housed in the farm house with a spectacular view of the mountains; it could be used as a private dining for a group of up to fifteen as well. The Barn is a lavish dining with an old fashioned fire place and wooden pillars; it has an old world charm. On top of the dining is a library with books and materials on plantation, nature and a range of other subjects. The Boulder Garden is tucked under a big boulder, this ideal spot for barbeques and campfire. Enjoy a variety of grilled meat, fish and vegetables served here. The blacksmith's bellow gives it a very rustic feel. The Hut is built in native Kerala style under a tribal home like thatched roof with wooden blocks as furniture, redefines the connection with nature.

Facilities
The estate resort organizes a variety of jungle treks, nature walks, mountain trek, waterfall trek etc. The resort also organizes sightseeing trips to nearby places like Mattupetty Indo Swiss live stock project, eravikulam National park, Tea Museum, Marayoor etc.

The Windermere Estate is located opposite Barath Matha College in Thrikkakara about 95 kilometres away from the Cochin International airport, 302 kilometres from the Trivandrum airport, 152 kilometres from Kodaikanal and 100 kilometres away from Thekkady.
