Fort Munnar Hotel Description

A magnificent hotel a little away from the main town of Munnar, Fort Munnar is am impressive well maintained hotel against the backdrop of the verdant hills. A huge circular parking lot and a porch is the first thing that catches your attention inside the premises. The lobby cum reception is very rich, with comfortable sofas and couches and rich decor.

Rooms
The hotel has a total of 29 rooms, divided into 27 Executive rooms, 1 Royal Suite and 1 Executive Suite. The Executive Suite has a separate living and bedroom and is very basic in nature. The living room has a sofa unit and an extra bed or divan can be fitted into it depending upon the occupancy. The bedroom is separated by a wooden showcase type partition, with the satellite television, cupboard, cabinet, dressing mirror fitted into it. The bedroom is small with a bed fitted into it and 2 sofa chairs for extra seating. This suite is small and has got no extra jazz to it. The Royal Suite, on the other hand is a higher category room and is richer and finer in taste and decor. This room has a quaintness to it, which is well accentuated by the decor and furnishings. Following the same pattern, this room too has a separate living and bedroom. The living room has the sofa unit and the dining table placed on two opposite ends and a television as well. The bedroom has a huge full length mirror, 3 telephones, luggage rack, mini bar, sofa chairs, a table fan all complimenting each other. The polished wooden floors adds to its grandeur. The bathroom has a bathtub, running hot and cold water supply, and amenities like hair dryer, magnifying mirror, shower cap, shampoo, moisturizer, talcum powder, foam bath, shampoo and a telephone. The Executive room is a compact uncluttered room with wooden floors. a huge bed, sofa chair, satellite television, writing desk with mirror on wall, blower, luggage rack, cupboard and tea and coffee maker. The bathroom is small, but with the same facilities.

Dining
The Royal Dine multi cuisine restaurant (45 persons) here resembles a cathedral with stained glass windows with the buffet area in the centre. There seating is adjusted in the rest of the room. The Coffee Caza at the lobby level is the coffee shop of the hotel and has a panoramic view of the underlying valley and tea gardens. The 5 tables with 4 chairs around each is quite an exquisite place, and guests can watch the clouds floating by while sipping their cup of hot tea or coffee.

Facilities
The hotel houses the Royal Court Conference Hall with a seating capacity of 150 persons in theatre style and is open for all kinds of seminars, conferences, and informal gatherings. The place is backed with basic secretarial services like Photostat, printer etc. Besides this, there is an activity centre on the first floor with games like carom, chess, table tennis etc. There is a semi circular glass wall here, with the view of the floating clouds in the background. An Ayurvedic massage centre called Green Leaves is one of the key USP's of this place. Located on the terrace, the centre has 2 wooden massage tables, a steam bath chamber and a host of rejuvenation therapies to choose from. Besides all these, there is a discotheque with ethnic cane decor in a separate cottage just next to the way leading to the children's play area. A tree house for kids is an added feature of the hotel. For the grown ups, a modernly equipped gymnasium holds immense interest.

Fort Munnar is located about 140 kilometres away from Cochin airport, 140 kilometres away form the Aluva railway station and 150 kilometres away from the Ernakulam railway station in Cochin. Munnar town and bus stand are both 21 kilometres away from the place.
