Godwin Hotel Description

Hotel Godwin is a well maintained 3 star category hotel about 35 years old. The hotel is a reciepient of the Government of India's Tourist Award. This 9 storied hotel offers all the basic facilities to make your stay comfortable.

Lobby
The hotel lobby is a small but very tasteful rectangular space with bronze sofas against the wall on either side of the entrance. Quaint crystal chandeliers hang from the ceiling and a beautiful flower arrangement stands on an equally elegant mantelpiece. The hotel has a lot of simple but very elegant wrought iron furniture which is visible in all rooms and restaurant of the hotel.

Rooms
A total of 52 rooms are divided into Standard Rooms, Deluxe Rooms, Super Deluxe Rooms and Suites. The Deluxe Rooms are divided into categories with Twin beds and Double Beds. The rooms in the hotel are very 'feel good' areas with wrought iron table legs, chairs and mirrors. The rooms are all done up in light colours thus allowing the rooms to look more cool and airy as well as spacious. Sunlight streams in through the windows in all the rooms. Most of the furniture and upholstery is in beige, cream and brown. All the rooms have cable television, direct dial STD/ISD telephones, safe, refrigerator and split unit air conditioners with a remote. The Deluxe Room bathroom is a well designed and spacious bathroom with a white marble slab and a glass partition for the shower area forming a perfectly sized cubicle. The bathrooms on the 6th, 7th and 8th floors of the hotel cater to guests who require a bathroom without a bathtub. The rest of the rooms sport a smart bathtub.

Other services and facilities offered are electronic locker in each room, hair dryer/iron on request, doctor on call, fax, internet and e- mail facility, licenced money changers, laundry and taxi service.

Dining
The restaurant in the hotel is located on the lobby level. This multi cuisine restaurant is open from 7:00 am to 11:00 pm and offers a buffet breakfast (7:30 am to 10:30 am). For lunch and dinner, an a la carte menu is the option. The restaurant is furnished with brown upholstered chairs and white lace curtains at the windows. The walls are decorated with colourful murals. There is also a rooftop restaurant called Cloud 9 which caters mostly to in house guests. Food is provided from the lobby level restaurant here. It is open from 7:00 am to 11:00 pm and provides you with a glorious view of Mumbai. This area is furnished with stark white and very elegant wrought iron chairs and tables.

Mumbai Central serves as the southernmost terminus in Mumbai for Western Railway outstation trains, as well as suburban lines. Trains depart from here to Gujarat, Rajasthan, Punjab and Delhi, including the Rajdhani trains to Delhi.

Gateway Of India (0.5 Km)

Built to honour the visit of King George V and Queen Mary to India in 1911, the Gateway has a grand arch in the Indo-Saracenic style with Gujarati and Islamic wooden carvings. It is also the departing point for ferries plying to Elephanta Island.
