Location
Silken Sands Resort is located at Adsurlim, near Dando Ground at Benaulim in Salcete in South Goa. The Dabolim airport is 22 kilometres away, the Margaon railway station is 7 kilometres away and the Margaon bus stand is 5 kilometres away from the hotel. Panjim is 40 kilometres away and the Sernabatim beach, the closest one to this hotel, is a kilometre away.

Silken Sands Resort is a nice, homely looking building at Adsurlim in south Goa. The lobby is long and the reception counter is located in the centre of it. There is an activity centre next to the reception area and at the end of the lobby lies the swimming pool.

Rooms
The three year old resort has a total of 28 rooms divided into 18 Double rooms, 4 Sun Deck Terrace Rooms and 6 Suites. The Suite is like an apartment with a separate living room and bedroom. The living room is quite big and has a long sofa in one corner with a centre table in the front and a satellite television and a fridge opposite to it. To the right, lie the dining table and the luggage rack. The bedroom is sparse compared to the living room and has a bed in the centre, dressing table, writing desk, luggage rack, mini bar, cupboard and a telephone. The washroom is big and has a bathtub with amenities like soap, shampoo, towels and running hot and cold water supply. The Double Deluxe rooms are standard room with two sofa couches for seating and a round centre table by the wall. The room facilities include an air conditioner, satellite television, intercom, cupboard and luggage rack. The washroom is compact and clean and has a shower area with bathroom amenities like soap, shampoo, towels and a continuous supply of hot and cold running water. The Sun Deck Terrace rooms are similar to the Double Deluxe rooms, with the only difference being that they are located on a floor that has a small private terrace.

Dining
The in-house restaurant is small with the tables and chairs neatly placed in a single file. The restaurant serves a wide range of Indian, Chinese and local food. Alcohol is also served at the restaurant.

Facilities
Silken Sands Resort offers a range of services and facilities to its guests like a swimming pool, Jacuzzi, kid's pool, car rental services, doctor on call, laundry services, housekeeping services, foreign exchange counter, internet facility at extra cost and a recreation room, which has a library and games like ludo and carom. Besides this, there is a conference hall here, which can accommodate around 80 people in theatre style seating. The resort can arrange for secretarial services on request at an additional cost.

Dabolim Airport (45 Km)

Located 29 kms from Panjim, some airport facilities include currency exchange, a book shop, handicrafts emporium, a duty free shop and facilities for the physically challenged. There is a prepaid taxi stand within and outside the premises.

Margaon Railway Station (10 Km)

One of the two main railway stations in Goa, Margaon is in the southern area of the state and services the Konkan Railway line, which has trains plying from Mumbai and other destinations including Delhi.

Calangute Baga Beach (65 Km)

Among the most popular beaches in north Goa, both the Calangute and Baga beaches are thronging with crowds soaking in the sun and splashing in the sea. Shacks and stalls line these palm fringed shores.

Dona Paula (50 Km)

Steeped in myth and romance, the beach is named after Dona Paula De Menezes, the erstwhile Viceroy’s daughter. This is where the Zuari and Mandovi estuaries meet the sea. The Dona Paula beach houses the National Oceanography Institute.

Panjim CIty (48 Km)

Visitors usually give Panjim a miss from their itineraries, not aware of its quaint old district. Fontainhas still retains a Portuguese air with colourful houses and old churches. Clean and not congested, the city is unlike any other.
