Nizmar Resort Hotel Description

Location
Nizmar Resort is located just off the main Candolim-Calangute beach road, around 500 metres away (12 minutes walking distance) from the nearest stretch of beach. It is next to provision stores, wine and liquor shops, supermarkets, restaurants, bars, cafes, internet cafes, banks, currency exchange counters, transport rentals and exclusive up market international brand stores. The famous Baga beach, Sunset Strip (Goa's most happening place), which stretches for about 2 kilometres is a mere 1.5 kms away.

Located on the main road to Calangute beach, Nizmar Resort is a seven year old property. A large parking lot and a huge reception greet you as you enter. The reception is a hall that has been created by assembling different things together; it has sofas and tables neatly arranged, a huge golden laughing Buddha, a large pool table with a low hung lamp (chargeable on an hourly basis), a navigator's map of Goa and books stacked on shelves to render a cafe and library look. On another corner is the travel desk and along side it is the guest's comments and feedback counter as well. One side of the lobby is done in glass, so you can enjoy the pool view and activity while sitting in the comfort of the air conditioned lobby. Just outside, the pool is flanked by lounge chairs, a pool bar, a multi cuisine restaurant and pool games like water polo. There is a tailor shop in the pool area itself called Mac Tailors and Drapers.

Rooms
The lodging is located beyond the pool area. The 104 rooms of the hotel are divided into 7 blocks within the property, which can be further categorized into 46 Standard rooms, 42 Superior rooms and 16 Suites. The Standard room is a modern compact air conditioned room with a cupboard, table cabinet with tea and coffee maker and a sink adjusted in one corner and a sofa set and tables on the opposite side with the bed parallel to it. These rooms have a television, chargeable mini bar and fresh plants to brighten your day. Interestingly, the balcony is attached from both the living room and the bedroom. The bathroom is compact with a shower cubicle and basic amenities like soap, towels, shower cap and more. The Superior Studio room is a similar room with bed, sofas, television, cupboard, tea and coffee maker and fridge. However, there is no sink in this category of room, but there is a dressing table and stool in its place. A notable feature of this room is that there are two separate entries to the balcony; one from the bedroom and one from the sitting area. The bathroom is simple and compact with basic amenities.

The Suites are a class apart with a sofa cum bed in the sitting room with centre table, a table and chair, television in bedroom, cupboard, sink, a chargeable mini bar, tea coffee maker, hair dryer, telephone and dual air conditioners. Both the bedroom and drawing room of the suites have an air conditioner each. The bathrooms here are big with a bathtub and modern amenities like soap, shampoo, conditioner, moisturiser, talcum powder and shower cap. All of the above mentioned rooms can avail room services from 7:00 am till 10:30 pm. Besides this, a laundry service and medical service are available to all guests on request.

Dining
The poolside bar and multi cuisine restaurant is open throughout the day and night. Oriental Garden, the open restaurant serves, as the name suggests, Chinese, Indonesian and Thai cuisines. 6th Sense bar cum discotheque housed in the main building above the reception is unusual with psychedelic paintings all over the walls. Needless to say, it's crazy here in the evenings and nights when trance music is on full blast and the bar is on full swing serving international and domestic liquor till late night!

Facilities
Next to the bar is the Health Club with a modern gym and work out facilities. The Conference Room on the floor above can accommodate 250-300 persons at a time. The most unusual thing about the conference room is that it has a movable stage, ideal for flexibility in performances like dances or ghazals. Apart from all this, Nizmar Resort also has an Ayurvedic Centre for treatments and massages. Along with it, there is a salon, steam, sauna and Jacuzzi bath, all housed together. All of the above facilities are near each other and are close to the pool for maximum utilisation of resources! Please note that the swimming pool is being renovated from the 6th to the 9th of September, and then from the 13th to the 16th of the same month.

Area Attractions

Dabolim Airport (48 Km)

Located 29 kms from Panjim, some airport facilities include currency exchange, a book shop, handicrafts emporium, a duty free shop and facilities for the physically challenged. There is a prepaid taxi stand within and outside the premises.

Margaon Railway Station (50 Km)

One of the two main railway stations in Goa, Margaon is in the southern area of the state and services the Konkan Railway line, which has trains plying from Mumbai and other destinations including Delhi.

Mandovi River Cruise (16 Km)

Visitors usually give Panjim a miss from their itineraries, not aware of its quaint old district. Fontainhas still retains a Portuguese air with colourful houses and old churches. Clean and not congested, the city is unlike any other.

Colva Beach (55 Km)

Unsullied, golden sands, palm groves and fish laid out to dry on the shore, Colva Beach in South Goa offers this and much more. Hotels, souvenir kiosks and snack bars dot the beach and fishermen trawlers can be seen in the distance, anchored in the sea.

Titos Night Club (5 Km)

The club is synonymous with Goas nightlife. Located on the Baga beach, this indoor night club has a multi-cuisine restaurant called Brass, an outdoor pub and also Mambos, a 24 hour coffee shop and boutique.

Calangute Beach (2 Km)

Located in North Goa, it s one of the most popular beaches, and thousands throng to it every year. It has some of the best shacks to eat and drink at – like Tito s, Mambo s, and the ever delightful Souza Lobo s. Fort Aguada is also visible at one end.
