Holiday Inn Resort Hotel Description

A drive uphill amidst shady trees alternating with a fence of bougainvillea plants, takes you to the Holiday Inn Resort in Goa. This 15 year old resort is built in traditional grandeur with majestic architecture spread over 25 acres of vast rambling land. The driveway is beautiful with colonial lights fitted all along the way. A big garden adorns the porch and a flight of stairs leads you to the reception and the lobby. The lobby is enclosed on one end by the reception, while the other end is the domicile for the many souvenir shops selling antique jewellery, pashmina shawls and other crafts. A local musician playing the saxophone or some other form of live melodious music is always present to welcome guests to the resort.

The lobby is balconied, so if you look down, the Cafe Mardi Grass, a multi cuisine restaurant, with provision for indoor and outdoor seating beckons you for a pleasurable dining experience. Beyond the balcony lies the swimming pool, an indulgence in itself and a beauty to behold. The swimming pool is jeweled with the pool bar, serving exotic drinks. A stone cobbled pathway alongside the pool (on both sides) leads to The Fish Grill, a seafood specialty restaurant serving local and international flavours.

Dining
A short walk from here directs you to a beautiful place full of life next to the revolutionary sea, popularly known as The Sundowner Bar, open all day serving exotic and regular drinks, light snacks and live music. Adjacent to Cafe Mardi Gras separated by a small pond with goldfish, lies The Whispers of the Orient Chinese restaurant, with a seating capacity of 57 persons and is open only for dinner. With a traditional oriental setting and delicious food to match, it has a display with little Japanese dolls and fans and Chinese tea cups. The Village Restaurant is the resort's multi cuisine buffet restaurant serving Asiatic and Mediterranean cuisines in a local fishing village setting.

Rooms
The resort boasts of 203 rooms, divided into 147 Standard rooms, 36 Club rooms, 2 Deluxe Suites and 4 Garden Suites. The Standard and Club rooms are similar with the only difference being the room size. The Standard room, which is also the basic room, is a compact room equipped with a double bed, satellite television, sofa chairs, cupboards, individual room temperature control, room service and laundry service. Every room has an attached bathroom with either a shower cubicle or a bathtub. Besides this, simple bathroom amenities like soap, shampoo, conditioner, moisturizer and towels are also provided for. The Club rooms are the same, just varying in size. The services and amenities and services remain the same. However, the 4 Club rooms open to the sea, while others open to the sprawling lawn or the pool.

Again, the Deluxe and the Garden Suites are quite similar in services and amenities, except the fact that the Garden Suites open to the well manicured garden while the Deluxe Suites open to the pool or beach. The Deluxe Suites are beautifully ornate with two bedrooms with exquisite decor and attached bathrooms, separate drawing and dining room, bar, satellite television, telephone, tea and coffee maker, self controlled air conditioner, Wi-Fi in the rooms and complimentary fruit basket and wine and cookies upon arrival. Both the bathrooms have bathtubs and are richly furnished with amenities like soap, shampoo, conditioner, moisturizer, gel bath, shower cap, shaving and sewing kits.

Facilities
Kids can have a treat here in the special Kid Suite with a fun theme atmosphere filled with books, toys and computer games to keep them entertained throughout the day. Also, the Activity Centre is a storehouse of creativity nurturing the child's imagination with a lot of fun. Adults meanwhile, can dig gold here at the Hacienda de Oro or the House of Gold. This in-house casino is meant for those who are strong spirited and can take risks at the variety of slot machines, black jack machine and the derby machine in a Mexican setting. The resort's location near the Mobor beach in south Goa away from the nuances of everyday life make it one of the choicest places of travelers. The airport is 42 kilometres away and the closest railway station at Margao is 15 kilometres away.
