The Solluna Resort Hotel Description
Rambling on an expanse of 27 acres, The Solluna Resort is an attractive place at the juncture of a foot hill and river bed. The scenic splendour of the mountain with its age old scars and avalanches and sprouting new plants stands rock solid against the property. The soothing water of the river sound like music to the ears in the dead silence of the forest. A modern and rather designer lobby and alcove catches your attention. Believe it or not, the chairs and tables in the lobby are actually the stumps of trees of the neighbouring forests. A natural touch is unmistakably evident in the arrangement of beautiful cones and twigs all along the place.RoomsWalking past vast lawns and cobbled pathways, against the beautiful backdrop of the never ending sky against the mountains, we spotted a few cottages, small and charming adjusted in harmony with the nature. The 18 Super Deluxe cottages are divided into blocks, which wear a typical Kumaoni look. With brick work effect from the outside, the interiors are extremely comfortable with a personalized touch. The rooms are devoid of any furniture; it is completely done in cement'so you have a cemented luggage rack, window couch and even bed stands! Other facilities include telephone, air conditioners. mini fridge, sofa chairs, tea coffee maker and snacks. Again, in keeping with the harmony of nature, the resort has deliberately not provided television. The washroom is clean with some basic amenities like soap, shampoo and towels provided for. DiningThe Top Pavilion restaurant is tucked away in a far end of the resort, just next to the swimming pool. The master chefs here decide the menu and lay out exotic menus for both vegetarian and non vegetarian food for all the meals. FacilitiesWith no television in the rooms, the resort provides all means to engage the guests in activities in the best possible manner. A children's park and exercise equipment like dumbbells are provided in the open. You can play volleyball, basketball, cricket, football and badminton on the premises and also enjoy a game of carom, chess, ludo and tambola over a cup of tea or coffee. Or choose to relax on the hammocks that sling the trees. The resort also has a massage parlour. In the evenings, you can beat the chill with an evening bonfire over nice juicy barbeques. The adventurous can go rafting, river crossing, trekking, bird watching or to the nearby ropeway bridge for sightseeing. The resort organises safaris to all the gates of the Corbett National Park like Bijrani, Dhikala and Jhirna at the rate of Rs. 2000 per jeep or Rs. 2500 per elephant. An interesting fact about this resort is that sometimes tigers, leopards and mountain goats even pay nocturnal visits to guests!
