I had checked on Tripadvisor.com about the review of this hotel. There was one review and it was not good. So I went to the hotel with a little bit of trepidation as my wife and two small kids were with me. It is to be noted that the management of this hotel has changed hands recently and has been taken over by the people who run Tiger Camp. There was also a notification that this resort only serves veg food - which added to my concern. However I was pleasantly surprised. I would review the hotel in the various facets below :- a) Overall Appearance - What you most like when you enter the hotel is the pathway lined with shady mango trees. After some distance, the reception is set within a nice moat lined with flowers and lotus. The hotel is on a huge area (I would reckon 20 acres) and immaculately done up with cobbled pathways and shady trees. Since it was April, there were a riot of flowers all around and a nice flowery aroma to the whole place. b) The check-in was smooth and fast. They upgraded me to a River View Cottage (though I had booked a Garden Facing Cottage through MMT). The view from the cottage back balcony was awesome. The River Kosi running through its rocky bed, lined by the resort's flower laden shores. c) The cottage was clean, nice and very very functional. The decor was in traditional bamboo / wood furniture with a minimalist approach. A small water channel covered by glass see through deck ran through one side of the room - felt that was nice. Loo was nice and clean. d) Food is included in all bookings and is served in the restaurant Annapurna at one end of the resort - there is space for having your food sitting below a couple of tall shady trees just outside the restaurant while watching the Kosi flow by and the green Corbett Hills in the far background. Lovely setting, especially when approaching twilight. Food is good but not something to die for. Has a feeling of 'ghar ka khana' but this is an improvement area for the resort. e) Service - Simply amazing. No complaints whatsoever. We had come back (after having checked out in the morning) in the evening after the Dhikala range safari, all dusty and sweaty and on request, they gave us a room for 2 hours to clean up the kids and freshen up. They also arranged for sterilization of my infant's feeding bottles every day. f) The swimming pool location is just beside the River Kosi and the spa is also there. Could not use the spa, though rates seemed reasonable. g) Safari Desk :- Amazing service here. Organized every thing perfectly. Would recommend e-mailing them early for booking safaris and they allow only 30 Gypsy's in day & evening to enter the forest. Besides do not spend much time seeing the Bijrani Or the Jhirna zones - go instead for the Canter tour of Dhikala zone. Wort it. Saw at least 30 elephants and 1 swimming tiger! Overall - Recommend this hotel not only for its fanstastic location and surroundings but also for the service. And it serves Non-veg!
