Chennai International Airport
This airport basically comprises the Anna International Airport and the Kamaraj Domestic Airport. It is the third busiest airport in India and serves as the premier international gateway in South India.
Central Railway Station
One of the two main railway terminals in Chennai apart from the Egmore Railway Station, it is the citys largest railway station with trains to all major cities like Mumbai, Delhi and Hyderabad and to other towns in India.
Egmore Railway Station
One of the two main railway terminals in Chennai apart from the Chennai Central Station, Egmore Railway Station has trains primarily for destinations within Tamil Nadu apart from a few interstate trains.
Guindy Race Course
The Guindy Race Course is a horse racing course set up in 1777 in Chennai. It usually hosts events in the winter season.
Raj Bhawan
It is the official residence of the Governor of Tamil Nadu and is situated in the Guindy Park Reserved Forest Area. The present area of the Raj Bhawan Estate is spread over 156 acres of land.
Anna University
One of Indias premier engineering universities, it was established in 1978 and is situated in the south of Chennai. It spans 100 acres of land and offers higher education in Engineering, Technology and Allied Sciences.
Marina Beach
Marina Beach is situated along a 12 kilometre shoreline in the city of Chennai. It is primarily sandy without short rocky formations. It is also one of the longest beaches in the world and the longest in India - a beach always buzzing with activity.
High Court Complex
The Madras High Court is located in the city. Its jurisdiction extends across Tamil Nadu and Puducherry and is the highest judicial authority in the state.
Madras University
One of the three oldest universities in India, Madras University was organised on the model of London University and incorporated on September 5, 1857. It is situated in the south of Chennai and has four campuses, which have more than 50 departments.
St Thomas Mount
This is the hill where it is said that St. Thomas died. It is one of the two suburbs apart from Santhome, which are named in his memory.
Valluvar Kottam
Valluvar Kottam is an auditorium built in the memory of the poet Thiruvalluvar. All of the verses of the poets The Thirukkural are inscribed on the pillars around the auditorium.

Elliots Beach - Besant Nagar
Also known as Besant Nagar Beach - or just Bessie - by the natives, ElliotÂs Beach is one of the cleanest in Chennai. Though extremely vibrant and crowded, the beach is still great for long leisurely walks. The Schmidt Memorial is a must see.
SIPCOT - Sriperambudur
The State Industries Promotion Corporation of Tamil Nadu was founded in 1972. This industrial park is 40 km from the main city on the Bangalore highway, and it provides what the international firms want for their businesses  infrastructure.
