The best thing about Mountain Club is its location. The road - rather track - that takes you off the main road from Bhimtal to the resort would be slightly daunting for inexperienced drivers, but once you are there, it is absolute bliss. Surrounded by pine and deodar jungles, the resort has a beautiful ambience and is the perfect place for those who want a quiet holiday. And you can drive down to Bhimtal, Sattal and Naukuchiatal during the day. The next-door Fredy's Place butterfly museum, a private initiative with 11,000 butterfly, moth, beetle, etc species, is a must see for all. And the track to Sattal from the hotel, if you have enough stamina, is a great one. And even if you cannot complete the track, at least climb to the top of the hill to get a splendid view of Sattal on the other side. The food at the hotel is ok, and that can be improved upon, and the staff is quite courteous.
