Great value. Modern hotel with good food and services. The cabs are a rip off though, but you can always choose to arrange your own.

  • Royal Orchid Central Hotel Description

    Location
Situated on Dickenson Road, behind the Manipal Centre, Royal Orchid Central lies in the heart of the city, just 6 kilometres away from the central railway station and approximately 40 kms from the new Bengaluru International Airport. It is located within walking distance of MG Road, the main shopping and commercial hub of the city.

Royal Orchid Central, a vibrant four star hotel, offers unparalleled services for business travellers as well as leisure travellers. A 12 storey structure, it offers a range of accommodation options and a variety of dining and conference facilities. Its entire infrastructure, including the rooms, restaurants, conference halls and other public spaces, has a larger than life aura about it.

The lobby comprises a long, large hall with a ceiling that is two storeys high. Tall potted plants line the entrance and are placed at regular intervals within the lobby. A constant gurgling sound echoes from five contemporarily designed low base fountains while soothing music flows from the centralised sound system. A combination of plum and beige coloured upholstery is used for the sofas, chairs and stools that are part of the elegant seating arrangement while a table with an antique gramophone separates the lobby from the reception area. On the first floor, above the reception counter is the coffee shop, which is enclosed by a glass panel but offers a complete view of the lobby.

Offering a splendid view of the surrounding area, glass elevators with wood panelled interiors are used to take guests to the floors above. The well lit corridors are semi carpeted and have telephones at regular intervals for the convenience of guests. For emergency use, telephones are also attached in all elevators. For security reasons, as well as to offer convenience to guests, access to rooms is through electronic key cards.

    Rooms
Royal Orchid Central offers luxurious accommodation in 130 elegantly designed rooms that are divided into 70 Deluxe rooms, 37 Club rooms, 18 Studio rooms, 4 Executive Suites and 1 Presidential Suite. All rooms have a combination of wooden and marble flooring and are equipped with amenities that include a plasma television, direct dial telephone, mini bar, tea/coffee maker, study table, sofas, ironing board with iron, slippers, shoe shine mitt, luggage rack and cupboard. A yellow pages telephone directory is placed in each room for the convenience of guests. Washroom amenities include a bathtub, hair dryer, soap, shampoo, dental kit, shaving kit, loofah pad, shaving mirror, shower cap, shower gel, bath foam, moisturiser, tissues and gargle glass. In addition to all afore mentioned amenities, the Club rooms and Suites also have an electronic safe while safety deposit lockers are available at the reception.

With complete wooden flooring and wood panelled walls, the Presidential Suite is of course the most luxurious unit in the hotel. It has a huge living room that is furnished with a long L-shaped sofa with ethnic upholstery. Offering a view of the Lake and surrounding area, it is appointed with a plasma television, tea/coffee maker, study table, mini bar and a 3-seater dining table. A small washroom and well equipped kitchenette are attached to the living room. The bedroom offers an equally splendid view through its glass wall.

    Dining
Dining facilities include Pinxx, a 24 hour coffee shop, Paparazzi, a celebrity food restaurant offering global cuisine and Al Fresco, a lounge bar. While the coffee shop serves a delectable buffet spread for breakfast (6:30 am - 10:30 am), lunch (12:30 pm - 3 pm) and dinner (7:30 pm - 11 pm), the restaurant is open for dinner from 7 pm to 11 pm. Room service is available round the clock. Special meals such as Sunday Brunch and Midnight Dinner on Saturday are also served in the coffee shop.

Al Fresco - the lounge bar, is located adjacent to the lobby on the ground floor and is open from 12 noon to 11 pm. Besides a wide range of liquor brands, the bar also serves finger food and light snacks.

Pinxx is accessible through a wooden staircase that leads up from one end of the lobby, as well as by elevators at the other end. Overlooking the lobby through a glass wall, it has a comfortable red, beige and chocolate coloured seating arrangement. A long bench with pretty colourful cushions lines the glass wall while the buffet is served on a wooden counter that runs along the wall opposite.

Paparazzi, the boutique restaurant, has its entrance from the top floor of the hotel. On entering, you find yourself on a ramp, which runs parallel to one wall of the restaurant and offers a complete view of it from the top. A tall steel pillar lined with wine bottles stands adjacent to the ramp. At the base of this wine cellar like structure is the bar. A glass staircase at the end of the ramp leads down to the seating area.

The restaurant, located in one corner of the building, has two walls that are made of glass and offer a view of the city and lush green surroundings below. It offers elegant seating on wood backed chairs with beige coloured cushioned seats and similar bar stools. The flooring is a combination of wood and marble while the light fittings are contemporary with white spiral lamp shades of varying sizes.

    Conferences & Banquets
Conference facilities include three well equipped halls, Pinewood, Redwood and Maple Leaf, which can accommodate 110, 55 and 25 guests respectively in a theatre style seating arrangement. The hotel also has a business centre with a computer, fax machine, photo copier and secretarial services. Complimentary Wi-Fi connectivity is available throughout the property.
