Bandhavgarh Overview
Once the hunting ground of the Maharaja of Rewa, Bandhavgarh lies in the lap of the Vindhya ranges of Madhya Pradesh. Within its 437 sq km area, it encloses the highest density of tiger population in the country while the undulating topography plays host to steep ridges and swampy meadows. Bandhavgarh is undoubtedly worth a visit, not just for tiger sightings but also the beautiful vistas it offers. Jungle safari is the highlight of any trip to Bandhavgarh, after all how many national parks in the country could promise you an almost perfect sighting rate! Besides watching wildlife in action, one can also learn more about them through movie screenings and book reading sessions (almost all resorts in the area provide these facilities). In addition, the scenic location allows for some enchanting walks. Note: The Park is closed from July 1 to October 1.
