Location
The hotel is located in a quiet backstreet a few minutes' walk from Station Road East and the Aurangabad railway station.

Hotel Shree Maya in Aurangabad is 'the place' for a backpacker to take a stop and breather after a good time of travelling.

Room
While varying in size all the rooms have roughly the same furniture and facilities: a couple of 1970s style armchairs, and a shelving unit, hexagonal stools, cable TV, and bedside phone, mosquito nets over the windows, and medium-sized beds with woollen blankets and clean sheets and pillow cases. The rooms are comfortable and adequately sized. The bathrooms are plain and institutional with a large sink, Western-style toilet and metal bucket occupying corners of a space decorated with beige tiles and metal pipes. The showers have reliably hot water between 6 am and 9 am, though you can have a warm shower most of the day thanks to the installation of solar heating panels.

Dining
The hotel has a great outdoor terrace dining area on the first floor where you can eat meals or simply hang out. The buffet breakfasts served every morning between 6 am and 9 am include fruit juice, unlimited tea and coffee, cornflakes, two eggs cooked to order, and four slices of toast with jam or butter. In the evenings the terrace is lit up for dinner while the guests swap travel stories.

Facilities
The hotel has a youth hostel feel about it. The staff are friendly and helpful. You also get free newspapers and Internet access on additional charge. The staff also help organise drivers and guided tours.

Please note: The Ajanta & Ellora Caves remain closed once a week. While Ajanta Caves are closed on Monday, the Ellora Caves remain closed every Tuesday.
