Day 1: Arrive Vienna - Optional Grand Danube River Cruise

Meals: Dinner

Upon arrival in Vienna, transfer to the hotel. Enjoy the rest of the day exploring Vienna on your own or opt for an optional tour of Grand Danube River Cruise. In the first half of this cruise, you will pass some of Vienna's most significant buildings like the Urania observatory, the "Kunsthaus Wien" and the Gasometer building. After passing the modern Hydro Electric power plant Freudenau, you will continue to the Reichsbruecke. On the second half of this cruise you will get an unforgettable view of Vienna's tallest buildings - the UNO City, the Danube Tower (252m) and the Millenium Tower (202m). Afterwards you get to appreciate the lock Nussdorf and the Thermal Waste Treatment Plant Spittelau, which has been designed by Friedensreich Hundertwasser. On the way back you will see the Rossau Barracks, the Vienna Ring Tower and the St. Rupert's Church, which is the oldest religious edifice of the city. You then return to Schwedenplatz. Later in the evening, enjoy dinner at an Indian restaurant and return to the hotel for a comfortable overnight stay.

Day 2: Vienna - Vienna city tour with Schonbrunn palace

Meals: Breakfast, Dinner

After breakfast, proceed towards Vienna city tour which will introduce you to the the most important sights of the Austrian capital. As we drive around the famous 'Ringstrasse', Vienna's main boulevard, we pass by the State Opera, the Museums of Fine Art and Natural History, the Parliament building, the Burgtheater (National Theatre), the City Hall and the University. We then drive along the Danube Canal and pass by Hundertwasser's 'Kunsthaus' and the Prater Park with its Giant Ferris Wheel. The highlight of this program is the visit to Schonbrunn Palace where we take a tour of some of the most magnificently decorated rooms. Later in the evening, enjoy dinner at an Indian restaurant and return to the hotel for a comfortable overnight stay.

Day 3: Vienna - Salzburg - Optional Concert at Hohensalzburg Fortress

Meals: Breakfast, Dinner

After breakfast, proceed and transfer to Vienna station to board train reaching Salzburg station. Transfer to Salzburg hotel. Rest of the day is free to explore Salzburg on your own. In the evening, take the opportunity of optional tour and enjoy a romantic 4-course candlelight dinner (pastry with spread / cream of potato soup / stuffed breast of chicken with buttered noodles and seasonal vegetables / Mozart dessert variations) in a restaurant of the 900 year old fortress Hohensalzburg. Afterwards, listen to the great Mozart concert either in the Princes' chamber - the most magnificent room in the fortress Hohensalzburg - or in the "castle tavern" with a wonderful view over the city and countryside of Salzburg. The Salzburg fortress concert is one of the largest chambers of music organizations in the world, producing more than 300 concerts annually. Later in the evening, enjoy dinner at an Indian restaurant and return to the hotel for a comfortable overnight stay.

Day 4: Salzburg - The Most Unique Sound Of Music Tour

Meals: Breakfast, Dinner

After breakfast, relive the true story of the Von Trapp family which was filmed as the 'Sound of Music' in the Salzburg area. The tour has been Salzburg's most popular tour for over 20 years. It is a combination of sightseeing in this historical city itself and in the beautiful lakes and mountains area known as the Salzkammergut, which is also a famous musical and cultural centre. The highlights and film locations of the 'Sound of Music', such as the beautiful gardens in Hellbrunn (where Liesl and Rolf sang 'I am 16 going on 17'), and the wedding church in Mondsee are a treat for all fans of the film. At the end of the tour, don't forget to claim your free Edelweiss cocktail at the Jugend und Familiegastehaus close to the Fortress - just ask your guide for directions. Later in the evening, enjoy dinner at an Indian restaurant and return to the hotel for a comfortable overnight stay.

Day 5: Salzburg - Venice (Optional Gondola Ride)

After breakfast, proceed towards Salzburg Station to board a train to Venice Mestre. On arrival in Venice Mestre, transfer to the hotel. Enjoy the rest of the day exploring the city on your own, or opt for an Optional Gondola Ride. A romantic 'promenade' by gondola will take you along the canals of Venice. It is a fantastic opportunity to travel along Venice's waterways looking up at the fabulous mediaeval palaces that line these historic thoroughfares, and looking down to see their shimmering reflections dancing on the surface of the water. This cruise through the city's most secluded waterways passing under small bridges will help you appreciate the special quality of this floating city. Later in the evening, enjoy dinner at an Indian restaurant and return to the hotel for a comfortable overnight stay.

Day 6: Venice - Murano, Burano and Torcello tour

Meals: Breakfast, Dinner

After breakfast, proceed towards Murano, Burano and Torcello. Sailing past the Public Gardens, the tip of Sant'Elena and the famous Lido beach resort, the boat will arrive in Murano, known throughout the world for its glass manufacturing industry. Here we stop for around 40 minutes to visit to one of the factories. The second stop (30 minutes) is at the picturesque island of Burano, famous not only for its lace but also for the fishermen's houses painted in bright colors. Then after a short cruise, we reach Torcello, the earliest centre of civilization in the estuary. Only the Cathedral with its magnificent mosaics and the Church of Santa Fosca remain as testimony of its former glory. After a 30-minute stop here, return to St. Mark's Square. Later in the evening, enjoy dinner at an Indian restaurant and return to the hotel for a comfortable overnight stay.

Day 7: Departure

After breakfast, check-out of your hotel and proceed towards final destination.

Famous for its baroque architecture, Salzburg is one of the largest cities in Austria, and is located on the northern boundary of the Alps, by the banks of the Salzach River. It has mountains to the south, and rolling green plains to the north. It is also the birthplace of the musical genius, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. The Aldstadt, or Old Town, is where the best of the city can be observed, with narrow winding cobblestone lanes in between magnificent mansions and other baroque edifices. This is also the city where the famous movie, The Sound of Music, was shot. The Hohensalzburg Fortress looms over the city atop a mountain, and climbing its walls is a truly delightful experience, rewarding you with a view of the city with the river winding through and the Alps beyond.

Other places to see include: Schloss Hellbrunn, an erstwhile summer palace with lots of fountains and pretty gardens; Steintheater (Stone Theatre), where the first opera in Middle Europe was conducted; Mozart's birth house, which is now a popular museum devoted to Mozart and his family; and Schloss Mirabell, a beautiful castle. Also visit the Salzburg Zoo, and one of the many museums, such as the Toy Museum, Museum of Natural History, and the Salzburg Museum of Modern Art

Often described as one of the most romantic cities in the world, Venice lives up to that appellation. However, this does not mean that the city is only for lovers. Somewhere between dream and reality, present and past, it is romantic in the imaginative sense, its beauty somehow more, and less than real. It is also one of the most historic cities in Italy, and its varied architecture and rich culture offer plenty to see and explore, even to the most intrepid traveller. Venice is built on an archipelago of 118 islands formed by about 150 canals in a shallow lagoon. These islands are connected by about 400 bridges. Venice is one of the few European cities to remain largely unchanged with the turn of the century, and for this reason the feeling of displacement with reality never seems to quite fade away. Gothic, Roman, and Venetian architecture impose themselves on you, and the canals' coruscating light reflects magically on the edifices. World renowned for its superior and artfully created glass, Venice's masks are also a highlight, and they can be seen everywhere during the Carnival.
