Day 1: Arrival Beijing

On arrival, meet our representative and transfer to hotel. After relaxing in a comfortable hotel, set out for a delicious serving of dinner at an Indian restaurant. Comfortably stay overnight in the hotel.
Day 2: Beijing
Meals: Breakfast & dinner
Depart from hotel in the morning to visit the biggest public square in the world, Tiananmen Square, which will conquer you with its grandeur at the first sight. Then head to visit the Forbidden City. It was the imperial palace for 24 emperors during Ming and Qing Dynasties and known to be the biggest ancient architecture complex in the world. Stroll in the museum to observe and experience its grandeur. In the afternoon, continue your trip to Summer Palace. Having the largest royal park and being well preserved, it was designated as a Key Cultural Relics Protection Site of China in 1960 by the State Council. Holding samples of the ancient arts, it also has graceful landscapes and magnificent constructions. Return for a delicious dinner at an Indian restaurant and a comfortable overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 3: Beijing

In the morning, get set to drive 75 kms to visit the Jade factory and the Great Wall at Juyong Pass, which is the symbol of China and represents the wisdom of Chinese people. It is unbelievable that Chinese succeeded in building such a great architecture with simple tools in ancient time. Later visit Ming Tombs (Changling Tomb), consisting of 13 tombs of the emperors of the Ming Dynasty after the capital was moved from Nanjing to Beijing. This is unique as it is the only huge palace made of camphor wood. Return for your dinner at an Indian restaurant and an overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 4: Beijing - Xian

In the morning visit the Liulichang, a famous district in down-town Beijing that is known for a series of traditional Chinese stone dwellings housing that sells various craftwork, artistry, and antiques. It is one of Beijing's traditional old quarters. Then visit Da Shi Lan, one of Beijing's most famous old-fashioned streets that has a history dating back 570 years. It was built in 1430, the 18th year of Emperor Yong Le's rule during the Ming Dynasty. Da Shi Lan is 375 meters long and is home to 26 shops catering to nine types of trade. Board the flight to Xian. Enjoy dinner at an Indian restaurant and an overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 5: Xian

After enjoying your breakfast at hotel, depart for a full-day tour and visit China's Richest historic area, which is recognized by the UNESCO as the eighth wonder of the world. Museum of the Terra Cotta Warriors, famous for the great underground army of the First Emperor of China, buried together with him 2200 years ago and discovered only in 1974. It is the most significant archeological excavations of the 20th century. Later, visit special art lacquar work shop. Post which enjoy some free time for shopping at Ancient style street. Return for your dinner at an Indian restaurant and an overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 6: Xian - Shanghai

Get up to a bright morning and head start your visit to the ancient City Walls, renowned as one of the largest ancient military defensive systems in the world. Later head to visit Big Wild Goose Pagoda, a well-preserved ancient building and a holy place for Buddhists. In the afternoon board a flight to Shanghai. Enjoy your dinner at an Indian restaurant and an overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 7: Shanghai

Today get set to visit a Buddhism shrine - Jade Buddha Temple, located in the crowded Shanghai City. Carved from a whole piece of white jade, the sitting jade Buddha statue is translucent with a solemn expression, displaying the excellent skill and extraordinary art of Chinese people. Later visit the Yuyuan Garden that has many scenic courtyards decorated with baroque rockery, pools, and flora that are all connected by corridors and passageways. Then visit the Pearl Factory. Shopping trip will begin in Nanjing Road, which starts at the Bund and runs westward, with People's Square in the middle. Renowned for its bustling life and modernization, Nanjing Road earns its reputation as the 'First Commercial Road in China'. Later head to the Bund. This renowned waterfront district is the city's most famous landmark. It is also the popular site to enjoy a night view of the city.
Day 8: Shanghai Departure

After enjoying your breakfast at the hotel, take a transfer to the airport to board the flight back home.

Haggling is recommended, while therapeutically scavenging for silks, handicrafts, clothing, antiques, electronics, jade, pearls, scarves, purses, brushes, inks, paper lanterns and memorabilia of bygone eras. Major areas for shopping are the Dong'anmen Night Market, Chaoyang, Wangfujing, Pan Jia Yuan, Liulichang, Hong Qiao, Chongwen, Xizhi Men, Xidan, Dongcheng, Xuanwu, and the areas around Tiananmen Square. In Beijing it is very encouraging to go on, and shop till you drop.

There's always much to do in Beijing, and residents abide by the philosophy of work hard and play harder, not forgetting to practice Tai chi. This in turn has set the leisure and entertainment industries thriving, giving you the opportunity to let loose. Whether it is sampling the amazing snacks at Dong'anmen Night Market, sipping drinks on Lotus Lane, or chilling out on quiet shores of Kunming Lake, Beijing will not let you get bored. The monolithic scale of the monuments and buildings cannot be ignored however, and taking in Beijing's sights is a must. However, pace yourselves well, as the list of these is long. Start with the Gate of Heavenly Peace, and move on to Tiananmen Square. There find the Great Hall of the People, the Museum of Chinese History and the Museum of the Chinese Revolution. Move on to check out the Zhengyang Men, Chairman Mao's Mausoleum and the formidable Arrow Tower, all of which together are known as the Front Gate. Other must see sights are the Temple of Heaven, the Forbidden City, Temple of Heaven Park, and Legation Street. If you have time, also try to visit the Underground City, a huge warren of bombproof tunnels now used as place for hotels, restaurants and warehouses. You can also take an hour long bus ride to the Great Wall of China at Badaling, and see one of man's seven wonders.
Chinese food is of course unforgettable, and the variety and types of the not easily procured elsewhere authentic cuisines that are available in Beijing are mind-numbing and palate titillating. Don't forget to try specialities like Beijing Roast Duck (served with thin pancakes, plum sauce, and slivers of scallions and cucumbers), and Lamb or Vegetarian Hotpot, where raw ingredients are purchased by the plate, and dipped into steaming, savoury soup until cooked. So, cycling might help lose a few pounds after over-indulgence, but you can always take the numerous and efficient taxis and tricycle rickshaws if you want a paunch as a souvenir.
