Day 1: Mt. Kenya Safari Club passing by the Equator

On arrival at Nairobi Airport, you will be greeted by a local representative, fully briefed on your safari and drive to the Mt. Kenya area. It is the largest mountain in Kenya filled with distinctive giant vegetation and the vast gentle slopes that are cloaked in lush forest and bamboo jungle. Also make the most of this opportunity and enjoy a stop at the Equator. Check in at the lodge and enjoy a spectacular view of Mt. Kenya, the highest peak of Kenya. Later, enjoy an Indian lunch here. The beautiful and majestic surroundings are abundant with a variety of game, including elephants, rhinos, buffaloes, several species of gazelles and monkeys. This evening, enjoy a delicious Indian dinner. Have a comfortable stay overnight at the lodge.

Day 2: Sweetwaters Game Reserve alongside a visit to Chimpanzee Sanctuary

After breakfast at the Club, proceed to Sweetwaters Game reserve. Sweetwaters land, the Ol Pejeta Conservancy and its sumptuous ranch were once the private domain of famed multi millionaire, Adnan Kashoggi. Visit the Chimpanzee Sanctuary, a charming heaven established by the Jane Goodall Institute in order to provide a habitat to orphaned chimps and black rhino. Enjoy some guaranteed and unprecedented close encounters. Relax and comfortably spend the evening at leisure and an overnight stay at the lodge.

Day 3: Lake Nakuru National Park

After breakfast proceed to the beautiful Lake Nakuru Park, regarded as the greatest world ornithological spectacle on the earth by avid birders. The park is famous for its millions of pink flamingos lining on the lake shore. Enjoy a game drive en route before checking in at your lodge. Enjoy your lunch and look forward to spectacular afternoon game run. The park is a habitat to the Black Rhino, White Rhino and the Rothschild Giraffe. Bird life here includes common species like the Lesser and Greater Flamingos, African fish Eagle, Tawny Eagle, Green Wood Hoopoes, Cliff Chat, Great White and Pink Backed Pelicans plus some other intra African Migrants. Comfortably stay overnight at the lodge.

Day 4: Lake Naivasha

Post breakfast at the lodge embark on a drive through bucolic countryside to Lake Navaisha. Arrive in time for a lunch by the lake and later enjoy an optional boat ride. Alternatively, indulge in a nature walk at Crescent Island to explore some wild animals, including zebra, wildebeest, gazelle, vervet monkeys, hares, genet cats, waterbuck and giraffe. Or you may wish to lounge by the pool admiring the view of zebras, giraffes and waterbuck just outside the fence. Have a relaxing stay overnight at the lodge.

Day 5: Masai Mara Game Reserve

Depart Lake Naivasha for Maasai Mara Game Reserve, jewel of Kenyas Game Park. This enormous reserve is famously known for its spectacular wildebeest migration and is a habitat of the big five-Lion, Elephant, Leopard, Rhino and Cape Buffalo. Upon arrival enjoy your lunch. Post lunch, explore the reserve on a late evening game drive. In the evening, relax around the camp with a lodge fire followed by an excellent dinner. Have a relaxing stay overnight at the lodge.

Day 6 & 7: Discover Maasai Mara Game Reserve

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

After breakfast, proceed on a full day game viewing drive to search for the myriad species of game that make this reserve their home. If you are lucky, you can witness a kill in action, moment by moment, right in front of your unbelieving eyes. After a sumptuous lunch at the lodge, proceed for another exciting game drive, where you can expect to see the famous Big 5 and the large mammals that are varied, abundant and easy to see. You also have the option of availing a Hot Air Balloon ride at an additional cost. Relax as you stay overnight at the lodge.

Day 8: Nairobi

Meals: Breakfast

After breakfast at the lodge, depart for Nairobi, the capital and the largest city of Kenya and enjoy a game drive en route. Enjoy the rest of the evening at leisure. Comfortably stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 9: Departure

Post breakfast, take a transfer to the airport in time to board your flight back home.

Mt Kenya

The second highest mountain in Africa after Mount Kilimanjaro, Mount Kenya is located in Central Kenya. The highest peak is named Batian, and is 5,199 metres high. The unique and diverse region around the mountain is protected, and known as Mount Kenya National Park, which is home to several tribes as well a many species of flora and fauna. The ecology of the region is very rich, with zones varying in temperature, altitude, aspect, and rainfall, such as the Afro-Alpine Zone, Bamboo Zone, and Montane Forests. The mountain also has 11 spectacular glaciers, which are a sight to behold. Some of the wildlife in this area includes the Colobus Monkey, Buffalo, Sykes Monkey, Defassa Waterbuck, Mackinders Eagle Owl, and Leopard

Sweetwaters

Sweetwaters Game Reserve and Chimpanzee Sanctuary is a privately owned 24,000 acre ranch that is located just 250 km from Nairobi, on the Equator. It is the closest game sanctuary to Nairobi to contain all of the located in "Big 5" species - Lion, Leopard, Rhino, Elephant and Buffalo. Enjoying magnificent views of towering and snow-capped Mount Kenya, Sweetwaters Game Reserve and Chimpanzee Sanctuary has the highest ratio of game-to-geographical-area of all parks and reserves in Kenya, with its abundance of wildlife and tropical vegetation.

There are many advantages to visiting this private reserve (which contains Sweetwaters Tented Camp and Ol Pejeta Ranch House) as guests can enjoy special activities not permitted in most Kenyan National Parks and Reserves, such as game walks, night game drives, horseback game rides and meals in the bush. The reserve is also famous for its resident black rhino, Morani, who was rescued as a baby after he was found wandering near his mother who had been killed by poachers in Amboseli National Park. After much relocation, Morani was finally brought to Sweetwaters Game Reserve, where he lives in his own 100-acre enclosure, protected 24 hours by armed guards.

Nakuru

Nakuru appeals to the imagination of many a traveller hailing from Western Kenya passing through to Nairobi. While some of them stop by for a day or two to take a look and explore Lake Nakuru National Park, others make do with eerie stories of monsters farming beneath the Menengai. But hearsay apart, Nakuru is a beautiful place to be, perfect for a secluded getaway for at least 3 to 4 days.

Lake Nakuru National Park: Located in the Southern Rift Valley, Lake Nakuru National Park is one of the most beautiful places to visit. It is also home to the rare pink flamingos. You will be able to see hundreds of them fishing at Lake Nakuru.

Menengai Crater:Menenjai may be a dormant volcano but it looked very much alive while we stood at its edge watching it ooze out lava smoke. What scared us more were the stories locals told us, especially the one about devils who farm near the earth' core. Eerie! But stories apart, this crater is a great place for an overnight campout. Also check out the Hyrax Hill Prehistoric Site, which is considered a major Neolithic and Iron Age site.

The Masai Mara National Park is located in the south-eastern region of Kenya, and is one of the best known and efficiently administrated wildlife reserves in Africa. Visited by millions of tourists every year, the park is home to lions, leopards, elephants, rhinos and buffalos. The plains are full of zebras, giraffes, impalas, gazelles, cheetahs, hyenas, jackals and wildebeest. The Mara River also has crocodile and hippopotami in abundance. The avifauna is also vibrant and diverse, with such birds of prey as eagles, ostriches, storks and vultures among others.

Nairobi

Nairobi is the capital and largest city of Kenya. The word Nairobi is derived from the Masai phrase "Enkare Nyirobi", which means the "the place of cool waters". The city lies along the banks of the River Nairobi, and is also popularly known as the "Green City in the Sun". Founded as a simple rail depot at the end of the 19th century, the city has grown to be one of the largest cities on the continent. But unlike most cities that grew in the 20th century, it is surrounded by the hundreds of square kilometres of plains, forests, and cliffs that make up Nairobi National Park. The city is also known as the Safari Capital of Africa, providing easy access to some of the best national parks on the continent. So, take a safari and check out all manner of wildlife, visit the Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage (also keeps Rhinos), observe the tall gangly creatures at the Giraffe Centre, and educate yourself at the Nairobi National Museum, National Railway Museum, and Bomas of Kenya. Also visit Uhuru Gardens, which was built in remembrance of the struggle for independence. You can also white-water raft on the Tana River, an hour away. The city, a blend of world-cultures, also has many restaurants, bars, and entertainment centres, filled with hundreds of cuisines and activities.
