Nainital, like other Raj-era hill stations, has the typical colonial structures and Mall lined with quaint shops and tiny bakeries. Amongst the numerous churches, St. John?s in the Wilderness is definitely worth a visit. Another must visit during your Nainital holidays is Tiffin Top or Dorothy?s Seat on Ayarpatta hill. Just a 4km walk from the town centre, this viewpoint offers some splendid views of the countryside and is a preferred picnic spot for families. Surrounded by hills, Nainital tours are incomplete without a visit to the peaks around the town, with Naini Peak being the highest amongst them. Also known as China or Cheena peak, it is a 6 km walk from Mallital, the north end of town and is ideal as a short trek for those interested in walks and hikes. Another interesting site is Gurney House, once the residence of the renowned hunter and conservationist, Jim Corbett. The quaint colonial structure now houses a museum dedicated to him and is surrounded by beautiful pine, deodar and rhododendron trees. A Nainital trip is incomplete without a boat ride on the famous Naini Lake and a stroll down the Mall with a Tibetan market at one end of it. During your Nainital holiday, also visit other hill stations like Sattal, Bhimtal and Naukuchiatal.
