On a holiday in Kochi, take a leisurely walk along the city streets to see magnificent forts and churches. Fort Kochi is one of the most important areas of Kochi city and it is home to tourist attractions like Chinese Fishing Nets, St. Francis Church, Santa Cruz Basilica, Vasco House and Fort Kochi Beach. Next, head towards the Mattancherry area, where you can see the massive Dutch Palace and Jewish Synagogue. Bolghatty Palace, set on Bolghatty Island is another must visit place during your Kochi holidays. Right in the heart of the city is Mangalavanam Bird Sanctuary, where you can spot numerous exotic and rare avian species, including both residents and migratory birds. Also visit the man-made island Willington Island and the museums, namely Museum of Kerala History and Parikshits Thampuran Museum. While on Kochi trip, visitors can stroll along the Marine Drive, especially during late afternoon or dusk. Take an excursion to Veega Land, an amusement park, about 14 km away from Kochi.
