Rooms
The hotel has 72 picturesque and well appointed rooms. There are 62 rooms with single and double occupancy, 4 Junior Suites and 6 Suites. All rooms radiate the glow of luxury with a central air conditioning unit, mini bar, CCTV, direct dial telephones and tea/coffee makers. The rooms are a mixture between carpeted and wooden flooring and provide a harmonious environment to the guests.

Dining
You can enjoy a great meal and unwind at the Viceroy, the multi cuisine restaurant. It is a classy restaurant with the chairs and sofas upholstered in dark maroon floral cloth. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served here with the breakfast free for in house guests.

Facilities
Other facilities include 24 hour room service, laundry, and doctor on call, travel desk, safety lockers, and courtesy pick up and drop to the mall lift, ample parking space and you get a lot more on request. A multi utility shop is also located within the hotel.

Himdev also offers a range of indoor and outdoor activities like a fully equipped health club with steam, sauna, Jacuzzi, a gym, table tennis, billiards/pool and a library. There is a separate play area for children with outdoor swings and slides, video and virtual reality games, coin operated rides and a play pen for the toddlers.

There is a business centre on the lobby level which allows you to access the internet, fax, photocopy and access e mails.

Location
Quality Inn Himdev is located at Katchi Ghati in Shimla. It is in a calm, serene spot with only the hills and trees for company. It is located around 5 kilometres from the main bus stand and railway station.

"Room booked was not good. On reaching there we have found that room is on backside of hotel and not providing any view. Thus we have given some additional money to upgrade the room, which has somehow good view but still the quality of that room was not good. I would like to say that it does not give me value for money."

" The hotel is located in middle of the mall and the Hadimba Temple and thus offers a good scenic view. No hustle bustle, and at the same time not very far from the places of interest. The rooms are also quite spacious and well maintained. The only thing that the hotel lacks on is the service. The service desk had to be reminded twice for getting the room cleaned. The tubelight in the washroom was flickering and it never got fixed (in spite of being mentioned as soon as we checked in). All in all, the hotel is good but the service can be improved. "

Just a kilometer and half before the bustling Manali market, with the River Beas gurgling downstream lies the Quality Inn River Country Resort. Just two and a half years old, this business class hotel can deceive anyone for an experienced and older hotel because the art, decor, architecture and facilities provided here are simply magnificent. The lobby is chic and compact with ultra modern plush sofas and polished wooden furniture. The lobby connects to The Deck, the tea lounge, another classy area continuing with the pattern of the lobby. The lounge extends to the outside as well, with cane chairs and tables in the porch with the sun's rays to keep you warm.

Rooms
The hotel is beautifully divided into 54 rooms such as the Deluxe rooms, Duplex rooms, Suites and Cottages. The 19 Deluxe rooms here are modern, classy and clean, with wooden flooring and some with a balcony and some without. Likewise, some of the deluxe bathrooms are adorned with bathtubs and some with showers. The Duplex rooms are different in the sense that it has tiled floors and of course, two beds. The bed space in the attic is adjoined with just a toilet, whereas the sleeping area downstairs has an attached bathroom with a sink, bathtub, pot and bathroom amenities. The Suites, with an area of 400 square feet, are a class apart with a swanky DVD player and a 29" colour television and river-facing balconies. The bathroom with the Suites has Jacuzzi bathtubs with a massage panel!

The Cottages are a fine set of two and four bedroom apartments with the former situated on the ground floor and the latter on the first floor. The best part about these cottages is that the bedrooms are interlinked with one another with a common drawing area. So, while guests can enjoy all their privacy, at the same time they can share the common drawing area, which has comfortable sofas, a fireplace and carpeted flooring all over. All the bedrooms here are complete with modern amenities like central heating, cupboards, safety deposit lockers, tea and coffee makers, satellite television, direct dial phone, Wi-Fi connectivity and attached bathrooms and running hot and cold water supply with bathroom amenities such as soap, shampoo, moisturizer, conditioner, shower cap etc.

Dining
The Curry by the River is a stylish 52-seater multi cuisine restaurant serving Indian, Chinese, Continental and Thai cuisine. The restaurant is airy, full of natural light, clean and uncluttered with the decor done in complete wood donning a rich classic look to the entire place. The Blue bar and lounge is another place where one can relax. Reputed to serve one of the best alcohols in town, the bar specially flaunts Blue lagoon, Screw Driver, Royal Smile and Wedding Night cocktails and Prohibition Punch, Anita, Sweet Corner and Blu Special mocktails on its menu. Another attraction here is their wide range of "hookahs" with rose, mint, apple, mix fruit and coffee flavours to choose from, making it the ultimate hangout place.

Hotel Facilities
The hotel has a large gymnasium with the latest electronic machines for the guests. The use of the gym is complimentary with packages; otherwise the guests have to pay a minimal amount for using it. Similarly, the steam, sauna, Jacuzzi and oil massage facility can be availed at an additional cost. Playing pool is another attraction, but it comes with a nominal price charged on an hourly basis only during season time, which otherwise is available for free! The banquet hall cum discotheque can house up to 70 persons and is a fully equipped venue suited for all occasions, formal and informal.

"The food was not good. The hotel staff (manager) was on leave. The in-charge was not responsive. I heard rats making noise and was not able to sleep properly. No peace of mind. Requested another room and was not shifted. Waste of money."

"I had mentioned the same in the hotel feedback form on checkout. The locale of the hotel is great and so too is its ambience. But room service and housekeeping facilities have a lot of scope for improvement. The quality and the variety of the food is very limited. Linen was not changed despite requests. No newspaper was delivered. The room had an incorrect room service menu card. The room was not cleaned/mopped during our stay. Credit card machine was not working on checkout and I had to pay cash. Health/SPA team could not give us an appointment. The mini bar was not filled in the room. All in all, while we enjoyed the place where we stayed, the service was the factor which differentiated the best from the very ordinary ones, like this one. "
