Day 1: Srinagar

Meals: None

Upon arrival in Srinagar, meet our representative & transfer to the houseboat. Spend the afternoon at leisure and enjoy the scenic views of the mountain ranges around Dal Lake. Stay overnight at the houseboat.

Day 2: Srinagar - Local sightseeing (27 kms)

Meals: Breakfast

After breakfast, check-out of the houseboat and check-in at the hotel. Later, visit the famous Mughal Gardens, Cheshma Shahi (Royal Spring), Nishat (Garden of Pleasure) and Shalimar Bagh (Abode of Love). These are situated on the bank of Dal Lake in the heart of Srinagar City. Also visit Shankaracharya Temple, located on a hillock, and get excellent panoramic views of the entire city, along with the famous Dal Lake & River Jhelum. On the way, visit the handloom centre, famous for production of Pashmina/Shahtoosh shawls and carpets. Later, enjoy a comfortable overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 3: Srinagar - Sonamarg - Srinagar (174 kms)

Meals: Breakfast

Leave for a full-day excursion to Sonamarg, the Meadow of Gold. It is situated at an altitude of 3000 metres above sea level in the north-east of Srinagar. While driving to Sonamarg, enjoy the incredible scenic beauty, dense pine forests and gigantic mountains. Sonamarg is a popular point for mountaineers and rock climbers, besides being an important halt on the way to Kargil (Ladakh). It provides an ideal base for various trekking routes, high mountains, lakes, glaciers & also the Amarnath holy shrine. In the evening, return to hotel and enjoy a comfortable overnight stay.

Day 4: Srinagar - Pahalgam (97 kms/4 hours)

Meals: Breakfast

After breakfast, drive to Pahalgam (96 kms), situated in the south-east of Srinagar at an altitude of 2130 metres above sea level. It is Kashmir's most popular resort surrounded by high mountains, dense forests and high mountain lakes. Arrive in Pahalgam and check-in at your hotel.

Day 5: Pahalgam

Meals: Breakfast

After breakfast, enjoy local activities like skiing, pony trails, angling (rainbow & brown trouts), horse riding, trekking (both hard & soft) and excursions to places like Aru Valley & Chandanwari (on the way to the holy cave), on direct-payment basis. Return to the hotel and after lunch explore the scenic surroundings. Enjoy an overnight stay at the hotel in Pahalgam.

Day 6: Pahalgam - Gulmarg (148 kms)

Meals: Breakfast

Leave for Gulmarg, which is situated in the west of Srinagar (56 kms) at an altitude of 2730 metres above sea level. Enjoy splendid views of the snow-capped mountains and the Nanga Parbat on a clear sunny day. It is one of the best winter sports ski resorts with one of the world's highest 18-hole golf courses. You can also opt for a cable car ride up to Alpather via Kongdori by Asia's longest run cable car ride of approx 5 kms. After the ride, return to hotel and have a relaxing overnight stay at the hotel in Gulmarg.

Day 7: Departure

Enjoy the day at leisure and later, transfer to Srinagar airport to board the flight for your onward destination.

Srinagar

Urs at Sufi shrines revisit the saints' teachings on their death anniversary. Rozabal Shrine brings people to its door out of curiosity. It is said to be the tomb of Jesus Christ, a controversial claim. A Shiva temple on the Shankaracharya Hill is where Adi Shankaracharya meditated.

It is easy to forget the harsh reality in the enchanting gardens. The Mughal Gardens are like paradise recreated: Shalimar Bagh, Nishat Bagh and Chashma Shahi Gardens. They are all designed to give you a magnificent view of Dal Lake.

Gulmarg

Gulmarg sizzles between the Pir Panjal range and Afarwat Hills in a world of white. The name Gulmarg speaks volumes about the hillside. Gul means flowers in Kashmiri, and the valley is a palette of colours through the year; bouncing buttercups, blushing tulips, cowslips and forget-me-nots carpet the town.

Frequented by great Mughal emperor Jehangir, the valley was first called Gaurimag by shepherds and later in the 16th century it was named Gulmarg by Kashmir King Sultan Yousuf Shah Chak. Such was the beauty and charm of the valley that Emperor Jehangir later visited and collected over 21 species of flowers from the valley. It was in 1927 after the coming of the British that Gulmarg started to develop into a beautiful hill resort. Let's take you to Gulmarg.
