The entrance opens into the lobby cum reception area, a cosy place. Beyond the lobby lies the restaurant with neatly arranged tables and chairs and a buffet table at the far end.

The Asia Health Resort is located on Starawberry Hill, near Dal Lake in Dharamshala Cantonment. Reflection: The restaurant offers a prolific menu ranging from Indian, Chinese and Continental to authentic local Himachali cuisines and can accommodate a total of 40 persons.

Solarium Lounge: It is an extremely modern and stylish place done up with plush leather sofas, a massage chair, a bar counter and a plasma television fixed on the wall. The outer wall is all glass and this is where the bright sunlight pours in, making this the perfect place to lounge about during the cold chilly winters.

Tavern Bar: A very country style bar with wooden walls, floor and furniture. The walls are full of pictures of visiting guests, notably the Pakistani cricket team and a plasma television. This place too, has an extension - the balcony has been converted into an enclosed seating area with an excellent view of the valley beyond.

A part of the renowned Best Western Group, Hotel Anand Palace is a three storey structure that stands tall on the slopes above Bhagsunath Temple in Upper Dharamshala. Its elegantly furnished lobby and reception lie on the first floor, right above the covered parking area on the ground floor. A flight of stairs lead up from the parking area to the reception, which is flanked by the lobby and restaurant on either side. A newly built property, it offers splendid views of the snow capped mountains in the backdrop.

"We liked the hotel and its services. Though small but it offers good value for money. You can trace Shimla with a cup of coffee in its little lawn. Taxi stand is near so you donÃ‚â€™t have to walk or hire porters like in other hotels on the Mall Road. ItÃ‚â€™s on the right side of busy Mall Road so away from the entire clamour but on the flip side you have to walk a little extra to enjoy the real city around the ridge/church. Only drawback I feel is that its lift to reception is located good 50 meters up from the road and at times itÃ‚â€™s difficult to carry your luggage."

"Timber Trail Resort is ideally located for a weekend getaway from Delhi, 260 km from Delhi on Chandigarh-Shimla Highway. The hotel is well maintained, has cooperative staff and excellent food. Although a little on the costlier side, it is a good option for short stay. The cable car ride to the Tiber Trail Heights is however too costly - a better option is to use the time to visit Chail, Kasauli or Sanawar."

"It was a pleasant experience to stay at Timber Trail Resort at Parwanoo. Initially I opted for Deluxe room but later on I shifted to Super Deluxe room which has a lovely view of valley & river flowing by. Rooms are in good condition but you still miss services like bath tub & mini bar in the room. Quality of food was good. Overall experience was good."
