Day 1: Cochin

Arrive at the Cochin airport or Ernakulam railway station and transfer to your hotel. Enjoy a half-day city tour of Cochin visiting the St. Francis Church, the Mattencherry Palace, the Jewish Synagogue and Chinese fishing nets.

Day 2: Cochin - Munnar (130 kms /4 hours approx)

Meals: Breakfast

In the morning after a hearty breakfast, proceed on a drive through the picturesque countryside of Munnar and upon arrival, check into the hotel for a comfortable overnight stay.

Day 3: Munnar

Meals: Breakfast

After an appetizing breakfast, embark on a city tour of Munnar visiting places such as the Christ Church, Mattupetty Dam and lake. Enjoy the rest of the day at leisure followed by a comfortable overnight stay.

Day 4: Munnar - Thekkady (105 kms/ 3 hours approx)

Meals: Breakfast

After breakfast, drive to Thekkady (Periyar) from the land of tea plantations to the land of the spice plantations. Upon arrival, check-in to your hotel and enjoy the afternoon at leisure walking through the bustling spice market of the Kumily village or visit the spice plantations. Day 5: Thekkady - Alleppey (125 kms/ 3.5 hours approx)

After a delectable breakfast, check-out from the hotel in Thekkady and drive to Alleppey. Upon arrival, board a houseboat and enjoy a cruise on the backwaters. Lunch and dinner will be served.

Day 6: Alleppey - Kovalam (140 kms/ 4 hours approx)

After enjoying breakfast, drive to Kovalam (a delightful beach town located 16 km away from Thiruvananthapuram) and upon arrival, check-in to a hotel. After resting a while, set out to indulge in some beach activities at the Kovalam Beach. Thereafter, return to the hotel for a comfortable overnight stay.

Day 7: Kovalam

After a hearty breakfast, take a stroll down the beautiful beaches of Kovalam followed by journey to Cape Comorin. Also visit the magnificent Padmanabhapuram Palace & Archeological museum including the Kovalam beach that has been divided into three parts - Lighthouse Beach, Hawah Beach and the Samudra Beach. Finally, after witnessing the Vizhinjam Lighthouse and mosque besides some other attractions located around the beach, drive back to Kovalam in the evening and enjoy a comfortable overnight stay.

Day 8: Kovalam

Embark on a full-day excursion to Kanyakumari. Thereafter, return to Kovalam for a comfortable overnight stay.

"We got a room overlooking both the pool and the lake. The views from the room were awesome and worth the stay. Very well maintained facilities and excellent ambience at the hotel. The room was very clean, posh and the staff were very courteous and helpful. They made sure that our needs were taken care of and provided us valuable tips on sightseeing in and around Cochin. Service was prompt and reliable. Food tasted excellent, freshly prepared and delicious. We were initially worried about the distance from the city, but it turned out to be a boon in disguise as it is located on the highway and can be used to easily beat the traffic to visit nearby places Alleppey, Munnar etc. The scenic beauty of the place in any case more than made up for the distance. Overall a very pleasant stay. I would definitely recommend this to everyone."

With a green and white exterior, this hotel stands in the hub of the main Munnar town, just around a corner. It is a 3 star property which was started in 1992 - 1993. Upbeat English music plays in the lobby. It is a spacious lobby with white marble flooring, wood paneling on the pillars and walls, floral patterned sofas and various murals on the walls. A carved wooden bracket divides the lobby space and a white marbled reception counter stands on the left of the entrance. Separate ladies and gents washrooms are connected to the lobby. In front of the main building, there is a large lawn with flowers, trees, manicured shrubs and a murky pond. Beside the pond there is a hut on stilts which looks quaint from the distance.

"Eastend Hotel is in the center of city with nice garden. Accessible to all locations. We have booked Super Deluxe Room for 3 days. Travelled in the month of July 2010(off-peak season) room is enough spacious for a couple. Room service is good. Hotel has an attached restaurant and the food is delicious. Overall room is spacious, and food and ambience are satisfactory."

"The Edassery East End is located at the center of Munnar which makes it easily accessible and is also very well known. Staff is friendly and courteous except for a select few in the Front Office who lack a smile and talk as if you are doing a favor by staying in their property. Mind you its just a select few. The rest of the staff are well trained and polite and also proactively responsive to meet your needs. The property has a nice lawn where you can laze around. Rooms are of very good standards. Cleaned very regularly and well maintained. Decor is tastefully done. The one thing lacking in the rooms is the lack of 24 hour hot water. Hot water was provided only for a few hours during the day."

"It's a nice property - aloof from the Thekkady town. The view from the hotel is amazing. There is no running hot water all day - so you have to make a request an hour back if you are planning to take a late bath. Food is decent. Overall a decent experience."

"Hotel's location is awesome, and our room was bang on the beach. Food was great, but they could do more to bring in authentic Kerala flavour (it was more of a 4-star menu). We had some issues with equipments in the room - toilet flush, air-conditioner, exhaust fan, etc. They need to have these checked and replaced to ensure 100% quality. Staff were niece and courteous."

"With due respect to the grandness of the hotel, it still did not appeal to me completely. It could have been so much better. The staff seems under-equipped. Most queries are responded with a strange reaction that I could not fathom. I had booked a Presidential Suite which apparently is the best room they offer. Well, it was a very disappointing room. A suite, for the hotel, is a living room and an extra washroom added to a normal hotel room. So much so that it looks like a flat apartment. There was no feel of any Suite. The Jacuzzi mentioned in the room details is a bathtub attached with few nozzles. The tub maintained in a way that you would not want to step in really. The 'Sea-View' Room is disappointing. The immediate outside view of the room is inferior for a Presidential Suite. The room service is okay. Food quality - nothing special/unique. Menu maintenance is very disappointing. The beach outside the property stinks. Overall, I would not want to go to Uday Samudra Leisure Beach Hotel again."
