Hotel: Kluney Manor
City: Ooty
Star Category:
A 165 year old heritage property, Kluney Manor is reminiscent of the Raj era with a stately colonial building that sits pretty on a 2 acre landscaped area. Having been an ancestral home for generations, it was extensively renovated two years ago. Although it does retain its old world charm, the renovation was carried out to ensure that guests enjoy a comfortable stay with all modern luxuries that they are accustomed to. A scenic driveway leads to the main porch, which faces the banquet lawns. From here one has to climb a few stairs to the lobby located in a central hall that is well connected to the rest of the building. The lobby boasts of decor that reminds one of the colonial history of the property. Intricately carved furniture is set up around fireplaces that are mounted with huge paintings while beautiful lamp shades, that are part of the central chandelier, reflect the warm glow of the hearth.

"Set amidst the glorious setting of hills and valleys, the Hill Country Resorts truly befit Ooty - the queen of hills. Any trip to Ooty will be made extra special if you are at the Hill Country Resorts. "

"Hill Country is ideal for a quiet retreat into nature. However you need a transport with you if you desire to touch base with reality since the resort is located in an off-beat place. The rooms are very spacious with a pantry where u can have unlimited tea/coffee. There is an extra cot in the room so family of 4 can easily stay in a single room. Always opt for the Valley view rooms otherwise the stay will not be worth while. The quality of food is also very good. However I feel that with the present staff strength, service will be compromised if the hotels get more guests. And the most important thing that the management should do is put up direction boards on the road; otherwise it is very difficult to locate the hotel. "
