DAY 1: Delhi / Mumbai - Bagdogra (By Flight) & Bagdogra - Gangtok (156 kms / 4 hours)

In the morning, Board your flight for Bagdogra. On arrival, you will be met by a MakeMyTrip representative who will transfer you to your hotel in Gangtok (130 kms / 04 to 05 hours away at 5500 feet / 1677 metres).
GANGTOK is Sikkim's largest city. It served as the royal administrative seat of the Kingdom of Sikkim from 1894 to 1975. Now as the state capital it retains a royal character. The Chogyal's durbar (king's palace) crowns the ridge, naturally facing Kanchenjunga, and the yellow roof of the Tsuklakhang or Royal Chapel gleams from far across the valley.
Upon arrival, proceed for check-in at your hotel. The evening is free for leisure. Stay at your hotel overnight.

Day 2: Gangtok

Morning After breakfast, Go for a full day sightseeing covering Rumtek Monastery (the seat of the Karmapa Rinpoche, head of the Karmapa sub-sect of the Kargyudpa order of Tibetan Buddhism).
Later proceed to Ban - Jhakri Water Fall (Ban literally means forest or jungle, and Jhakri means healer), then proceed to Droul Chorthen (built by the venerable Trulshi Rimpoche, head of the Nyingma order of Tibetan Buddhism, in 1945), Research Institute of Tibetology, Directorate of Handicraft & Handloom, Flower Show. Stay overnight at your hotel in Gangtok.

Day 3: Gangtok

After breakfast in the morning, start for excursion to Tshangu Lake - located at a height of 12400 feet / 3780 metres (43 kms / approximately 3 hours away).
Tshangu Lake is one of the most popular destinations for tourists, it is located at 35 km from Gangtok. On the way to the Lake, you will enjoy nice scenery and snowed hills. The cool water of the Lake is perfectly attuned with the scenic beauty around.
Drive & reach back to Gangtok by the evening. After spending the evening at your leisure, return to your hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 4: Gangtok - Pelling

In the morning, get transferred to Pelling (at 6100 feet / 1860 metres, 116 Kms / 05 to 06 hours away).
PELLING located at a distance of 120 kms from Gangtok Pelling is another serene, mountain village which lies in the western districts of Sikkim. This village is situated at an altitude of approximately 2000 metres and commands a spectacular view of Mt. Kanchenjunga.After this, return to your hotel for overnight stay.

Day 5: Pelling - Darjeeling

Meals: Breakfast & dinner

After breakfast, proceed for a half day sightseeing tour to Rimbi Waterfalls, Rimbi Hydro Project & Kechopari Lake (at 6000 feet / 1829 metres).
Kechopari Lake - The world Khachoedpalri means The Wishing Lake. It is one of the most sacred and holy lakes for the Buddhists.
In the afternoon, get transferred to Darjeeling (125 kms / 5 to 6 hours away at an altitude of 7380 feet / 2250 metres).

DARJEELING: standing high in the Himalayas at an altitude of 2134 metre, Dorje Ling, or place of the Thunderbolt, offers breathtaking views of snow-capped mountain peaks, with the Kanchendzonga rising higher than all the others. Often referred to as the Queen of the Hills , it remains just as alluring with its tiny waterfalls, little villages and a narrow gauge railway track. It is surrounded by World Famous Tea Gardens and snow capped mountains. Return to your hotel for a warm dinner and a comfortable overnight stay.

Day 6: Darjeeling

Take an early morning tour to Tiger Hills (8364 feet / 2550 metres) at around 4:00 am to view sunrise over Kanchendzonga Peak (subject to clear weather).
Darjeeling's best gift to its visitors is the dawn of a new day. The mountains awaken first with a tentative peeking of the sun. A steep ride, five kilometres from Ghoom, or an invigorating walk up a steep incline, leads sun worshippers to Tiger Hill. The air is chilly with darkness and damp.
On way back to your hotel visit Ghoom Monastery, Batasia Loop.
After breakfast at your hotel, go for a half-day sightseeing of Japanese Temple, Peace pagoda, Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park & Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (Closed on Thursday), Tenzing & Gombu Rock, Tibetan Refugee Self-Help Center (Closed on Sunday) & Tea Estate.The evening is free for leisure.Return to your hotel for a delicious dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 7: Darjeeling - Bagdogra (90 kms by road | 3 hour drive) Departure

Meals: Breakfast

After a buffet breakfast you will be transferred to Bagdogra airport to board flight for onward journey. End of tour services.

Based in the picturesque town of Darjeeling, Hotel Sinclairs is 3 hours away from Badgogra airport and New Jalpaiguri station. The nearest shopping area however is only half a kilometre from the hotel.

"Standard of the hotel is not up to Sinclair standard. House keeping not up to the mark, Overall upkeep of the property also not up to the mark, staff is not adequately trained. Food is ok and can be improved. Linen is also not changed every day and we need to push people for this."

"The hotel appears to be constructed more than 20 years back when the vicinity was not so congested and it was a very good viewing gallery, though the height of the hotel is too high for the plane land people walk around. This problem would have been toleratedhad the vicinity been so conjested.It is a mixed experience with the hotel. "

"POSITIVES about Hotel Sinclairs: The Hotel is centrally located being just a 5 - 10 minutes walk to the Mall Road. It has a lot of space with a large reception and lobby and big rooms as well as wide corridors. The hot running shower for bath was great. Being at a height, the location of the hotel provides a good panaromic view of the Kanchenjunga Range. They have built a small outdoor seating area from where you can admire the view. There are also nice small gardens with flowers which some of the rooms have a view of. The food quality was excellent (buffet dinner & breakfast) and the service inside the restaurant was great as well. Bed Tea was served early as per our request and the repeat order was quickly serviced as well. NEGATIVES about Hotel Sinclairs: there was old furniture in the rooms and the bed sheets, quilts and towels seemed really old and looked unwashed. The wooden floor inside the room made noises of all kinds while walking. The Kanchenjunga Range could not be viewed from the room we stayed in.The setting inside the restaurant is old and the atmosphere was dark & dingy. The sofas at the reception were in a bad shape and the waiters were mostly not in uniform and would walk into the room wearing chappals."

Gangtok, an unassuming Himalayan town comes with the quaint charms very much like most hillside towns. And yet its culture and its influences stop it from being clubbed with the rest.

Flung away from the heart of India and in proximity with Tibet, it is most certainly not the quintessential Indian town. Buddhism is prevalent. So are entrancing views of mountains and foliage.

Monks cruising down the street in bikes is a common sight. You cannot miss the numerous monasteries in the city. The mystical Do-Drul Chorten, Enchey Gompa Monastery, Rumtek Monastery, Tashiling Monastery and Phensong Monastery are quite beautiful. The Namgyal Institute of Tibetology offers an intimate rendezvous with its culture. Even better are the masked dances and processions during festivals.

Gangtok offers some incredible views of the mighty Kanchenjunga from Tashi Point and its quaint temple, Ganesh Tok. Hanuman Tok is another Hindu temple in this city.

Shoppers and foodies will be delighted. From yummy tea to Tibetan handicrafts and fur jackets, Gangtok's MG Road and Lal Bazaar are only too happy to please. The food is diverse and restaurants serve you traditional Sikkimese dishes, steamed and fried Momos, the wicked Chang and succulent meat that will have you asking for more.

Changu Lake, Saramsa Garden and Banjhakri Falls are all a short drive from the city and are neat getaways whether you want to ride a Yak, sip on hot tea meditatively or have a scrumptious picnic. For a few lessons in history, just drive up to the Nathu La Pass.

Orchids, Snow Leopards, Red Pandas and bamboos have their own sanctuaries in Gangtok that takes the conservation of its greenscape and wildlife seriously.

Not a tourist trap, with little to do and much to discover, experience the art of doing nothing and being everything in Gangtok.
