Day 1: Arrive at Jaipur

Upon arrival, check in to the hotel, relax and then in the afternoon, proceed to visit the City Palace, which still is the formal residence of the royal family. Also visit Chandra Mahal, Shri Govind Deo Temple and the City Palace Museum that has the private collection of Jaipur Maharajas. Also visit Jantar Mantar, a stone observatory, which is the largest of Jai Singh's five remarkable observatories. Stay overnight at your hotel in Jaipur.

Day 2: Jaipur

Meals: Breakfast

After breakfast, proceed to visit the Amber Fort, located 11 kilometers away from Jaipur. Enroute visit the Hawa Mahal. Amber was the ancient capital of Kachawaha dynasty before Jai Singh founded Jaipur. Ride an elephant to reach the gates of the fort. In the afternoon, take a walk through the colorful Bazaar of Jaipur and visit a factory to see the famous block printing work, which is a specialty of Jaipur. In the evening, drive through the new city of Jaipur and visit Laxmi Narayan Mandir - a Hindu temple built in white marble. Return to your hotel for a comfortable overnight stay.

Day 3: Jaipur - Pushkar

Meals: Breakfast

After breakfast, check out of your hotel and drive to Pushkar, which is one of the most important pilgrimage places of Hindus, famous for having the only temple dedicated to Lord Brahma in the world. Visit Dargah Sharif at Ajmer on the way to Pushkar. At Pushkar, visit the famous Brahma Temple and if visiting during season, you may be able to witness the famous camel fair of Pushkar too. Take a holy dip in the Pushkar Lake and visit its 52 bathing ghats and more than 500 temples, each with its own legends of miraculous powers of healing and displaying variety of architectural styles. Pushkar is also known all over the world for its beautiful roses and rose essence and you can visit the Rose Garden too in the evening. Stay overnight at the hotel in Pushkar.

Day 4: Pushkar - Udaipur

After breakfast, check out from the hotel & drive to Udaipur in the morning. Check in and stay overnight at the hotel in Udaipur, the City of Lakes.

Day 5: Udaipur

After breakfast, go on a sightseeing tour to Sahelion-Ki-Bari. Then proceed to the Museum of Folk Art, which has a rich collection of folk dresses, puppets, dolls, masks, ornaments, folk musical instruments and paintings on display. Afterwards, visit the City Palace, the biggest palace complex in India, where four generations of Maharajas added mansions and palaces. You must also visit the museum of the palace which includes the beautiful peacock mosaic and miniature wall paintings of Indian mythology. In the evening, enjoy a boat ride on Lake Pichola. Comfortably stay overnight at the hotel in Udaipur.

Day 6: Udaipur - Mount Abu

Meals: Breakfast

After breakfast, check out of the hotel & drive to Mount Abu which is the only hill station in Rajasthan nestling in picturesque Aravalli hills. Upon arrival, check in to the hotel. Take a short break and then visit the famous Dilwara Jain Temples. Dilwara Jain Temples were constructed between 11th and 13th centuries. After visiting the temple, proceed to Nakki Lake. This artificial lake is ringed by hills. In the evening, wnjoy a stroll down the bazaar up to Sunset Point from where you get a wonderful view of the setting sun. Enjoy a comfortable time as you stay overnight at your hotel in Mount Abu.

Day 7: Mount Abu - Ranakpur - Jodhpur

After breakfast, check-out of your hotel and drive to Jodhpur, visiting the Jain Temple of Ranakpur enroute. This temple is unique as it has 200 pillars, each one carved differently and 29 halls adorned with beautiful carvings and sculptures. Check-in to your hotel in Jodhpur and stay overnight.

Day 8: Jodhpur

Meals: Breakfast

After breakfast, check-out of the hotel and enjoy a sightseeing tour of the city. Jodhpur is the second largest city in Rajasthan and is also known as the 'Blue City' as most of the houses of the old city are painted in blue. The old city is surrounded by a 10 km long wall, which has 101 bastions and 7 gates. Visit the Mehrangarh Fort, which was built on a steep hill. The fort is among the best in India with exquisitely latticed windows in residential complexes. Later proceed to visit the Jaswant Thada, a royal cenotaph built in white marble. You also stroll down the markets of Jodhpur. Late in the evening, drive through the desert and proceed to Jaisalmer. Jaisalmer is famous for its carved havelis (grand mansions). Jaisalmer is a marvel of beautiful culture and the city is one of the most exotic cities in India. Upon reaching Jaisalmer, check in to the hotel. Stay overnight at the hotel in Jaisalmer.

Day 9: Jaisalmer

Meals: Breakfast

After breakfast, go on a sightseeing tour of the city. The stunning Jain temples inside the Sonar Quila, the palace museum inside the Jaisalmer Fort, which exhibits a rich collection of imperial dresses and artifacts belonging to the royal family of Jaisalmer and havelis with convoluted designs and latticed windows such as Patwaon-ki-Haveli and the Gadisar Lake form the main attractions of the city. Late in the evening, drive about40 km away from Jaisalmer to Sam Dunes & enjoy the camel cart ride to the Sunset Point and Sam sand dunes (Direct Payment Basis) Take the camel safari (Direct Payment Basis) and explore the true life and delights of the desert. Stay overnight at hotel in Jaisalmer.

Day 10: Jaisalmer - Bikaner

Meals: Breakfast

After breakfast, check-out of the hotel and drive to Bikaner. Check-in to the hotel in Bikaner for overnight stay. Visit Junagarh Fort, Bhandasar Jain Temples and enjoy sunset views of the desert and taste the camel's milk and ride on its back at the world-famous National Camel Breeding Farm. Have a comfortable stay overnight at the hotel in Bikaner.

Day 11: Bikaner - Jaipur

Meals: Breakfast

"I understand due to construction work is on & no season the hotel staff is relaxing. Even after notice in the night, after wakeup alarm it took 15 minutes to serve tea. I was communicated pool time 8 am to 8 pm, I could observe a family leaving back at 7.30am. Which is the correct timing communicated to us by staff or used by other family? The taxi services, booked by the hotel were excellent. Finally it was good to be there. "

"My only complaint is in the bathroom tub there is no handle to hold for senior citizens to get into and get out. Besides there is no tap in the tub to adjust the hot water temperature before starting the shower. The shower handle is also inconveniently placed. I have verbally informed the front office."

"It was an ok experience. The rooms were large enough but the decor was not to my liking. Room service, in terms of promptness as well as taste of food, was average. However, the location was good, as the hotel was close to areas where I had work. A word of caution...the discotheque of the hotel is located in the basement and can be quite noisy sometimes."

Hotel Rang Mahal is located at 5 Hotel Complex on Sam Road in Jaisalmer. The hotel is about 1.5 kms from the airport, 3.5 kms from the railway station and 2 kms away from the bus stand. Please note that the Jaisalmer Airport operates from October to March only.

From golden yellow stone on the exteriors to the detailed stone carvings in the embellished 'jharokhas' and arches - Rang Mahal offers a lifetime experience of living in a medieval fortress.

Rooms
This heritage hotel offers 63 Deluxe rooms and 2 Deluxe Suites. Another 60 Royal rooms are in the offing in a separate block. Done in traditional decor, every room boasts of unique traditional wall paintings. The rooms are equipped with amenities like round the clock room service, air conditioning, internet connection, satellite television, telephone, DVD Player (on request) and an attached bathroom with running hot & cold water. The Deluxe Suite is a bigger room with a separate living and dining area and bedroom and a bar counter as well. The amenities in the Suite are the same as Deluxe room, but more elaborate. The Royal rooms are modern rooms sporting swanky furnishings with a dash of tradition. While LCD televisions and Wi-Fi internet connection transfers you to a different level of comfort, the colourful curtains and cushions fitted beneath the 'jharokha' windows are a constant reminder of the glorious Rajasthani culture.

Dining
Hotel Rang Mahal offers a multi cuisine restaurant with delectable Indian, Chinese and local cuisines for breakfast, lunch and dinner in two restaurants. The a la carte restaurant facing the pool and garden can seat almost 70 people, while the Dining Hall located in the lobby level can seat up to 100 people. An open garden restaurant is operational during peak season, with a commanding view of the surrounding swimming pool. Besides this, the hotel offers a pool bar Pattua, serving an excellent array of Indian and international liquor.

Facilities
The hotel offers a conference cum banquet hall for all business and informal gatherings. The lawn is also used for open parties. "A very modern hotel constructed like a mahal (palace), beautifully decorated with wall murals depicting Rajasthani culture. Excellent restaurant service and good food though a bit expensive. Some training for the reception staff to help clients plan their sightseeing in an optimal way, would be highly desirable. Overall a very pleasant experience. Highly recommended."

Simple yet stylish, traditional yet contemporary, this haveli-turned-hotel is charming with its tasteful furnishing and Rajasthani decor which is not over the top. The staff is courteous and the food great. The location of Jaiwana Haveli is excellent too, right at the edge of the Pichola Lake, in the centre of the city. The hotel is an ideal choice if you are looking to get acquainted with traditional Rajasthan which is not tailor made for tourists, but something real. The lobby is beautiful with stained glass windows and art deco furniture.

Hotel Swaroop Vilas has a great location in a quiet part of the new city, right opposite Lake Swaroop. The area is very peaceful and abounds with greenery. The airport is 24 km from here, and the railway station and the bus stand 3 - 4 km away. Facing Lake Swaroop, this impressive building stands tall in spotless cream. As you enter, Rajasthani miniatures greet you on the right. There is a split-level lobby on the left with cushy couches and jharokhas all done in blue and white. The reception has elaborate drawings and meenakari on the walls. The lobby further opens into a further enclosure with a charming window seat with glazed curtains and huge china tubs of water with petals floating. The corridors throughout the hotel have black and white photographs of Udaipur's royalty and quaint lamps hang from the ceiling.

"At the time of booking Swaroop Vilas through MakeMyTrip I had apprehensions regarding the hotel in terms of service, value for money, cleanliness, location and quality/choice of food available. Now after staying in Swaroop Vilas with my family (wife and daughter - both are very particular about hygiene and want hotels only with clean toilet, bathrooms and providing clean and freshly laundered bedsheets.) I can convincingly say that the Swaroop Vilas met the standards on all counts. It may be a family owned and run hotel but it more than meets three star comfort for stay, food variety and quality and the ambience. With respect to the location after spending four days in Udaipur and visiting all the listed sightseeing places would rate it as an ideal location. Finally in my next visit to Udaipur I and my family will have Swaroop Vilas as our first choice."

"The hotel was really good. The ambience, the architecture everything was quite suiting the Rajasthani style. Especially the room size and cleanliness were great. It was very spacious. The food too was sumptuous. We however feel that there has to be one lift at least in the old building block."

"The hotel has a definite advantage over other heritage hotels due to close proximity to Nakki Lake and a big estate. The rooms were good, vegetarian food was average. Only problem was it had mixed kitchen for cooking vegetarian and non vegetarian food which may be considered as a negative by vegetarians and Jains. The room service was not satisfactory - the rooms not cleaned everyday, only every 2 days. The intercom facilities were not very good and most of the time the voices were not audible or they would abrubtly cut the phone. Agree there were a few negatives but overall the location and the room provided was good. Incidentally they did upgrade us to a room in the Palace (we had booked Standard Cottage, which was further away from the castle). This fact should have been mentioned at the time of booking that the Standard Cottages are not part of the castle and luckily we were upgraded so not too much of a problem. Overall happy with the hotel and in fact we would love to visit again."

"To stay at The Jaipur House is an amazing experience. If anyone go for Mount Abu, must see this heritage royal house. Cut-off your extra expense and spend that money for stay at The Jaipur House. The person will definitely experience that he is the king of Mount Abu. To take the lunch at The Jaipur House is also an amazing experience. I decide that when I will visit Mount Abu, I will stay at The Jaipur House. Really such a great experience for me and my loved once."
