What is Carbon Footprint?
Carbon Footprint is a measure of the impact our activities have on the environment. Global warming and climate change are directly a result of an increase in fuel consumption and subsequent release of Carbon Dioxide (CO2) in the air.
Approximately 225 kgs of CO2 is emitted for about 1200-1500 kms of air distance.
To help reduce your Carbon Footprint when you fly, a small donation you make to Seva Mandir, an NGO that works in the field of afforestation in Rajasthan, will lead to more trees being planted. For every tree planted, more that 20 kgs of CO2 is absorbed yearly. MakeMyTrip will collect your donation amount and forward it to the NGO GiveIndia for further processing.

To contribute, follow these simple steps:
1. After selecting your flight, the Review page will display an option for Reduce your Carbon Footprint. To make a donation, select your chosen amount and trees you would like to plant.
2. The donation amount of Rs. 26 is pre-selected. However, you may choose to make a higher donation and plant more trees. Your donation amount is TAX FREE and will be added to the total amount that will be charged on your card. From your total donation, 9.1% of the amount will be given to GiveIndia.
3. Privacy Notice: MakeMyTrip will share your name, e-mail address, the date and amount of your donation with GiveIndia. GiveIndia will provide send you a 80G tax exemption receipt after one month of making your contribution.
