• Mr Raghu Menon takes over as Chairman and Managing Director, Air India on April 1st, 2008
• Members of ‘Flying Returns’, Air India’s Frequent Flyer Programme, who travel on its NonStop flight AI-101/AI-102, being launched effective February 8, 2008 on the Delhi-New York- Delhi sector, can look forward to receiving double mileage points. (valid till April 30, 2008)
• With the Maharajah Non Stop flight AI-101/AI-102, Air India has become the first airline to offer Non Stop services between Delhi and JFK, New York. 
• Air India is the proud owner of the fourth Boeing 777-200LR (Longer Range) aircraft. Air India has received 17 Boeing aircraft so far – four B777-200LRs, three Boeing 777-300ERs and 10 B737-800s for Air India Express, its budget airline.     
• The Department of Engineering, Air India, has obtained the ISO 9002 for its Engineering facilities for meeting international standards.
• Air India's security department became the first aviation security organization in the world to acquire ISO 9002-1994 certification in January 2001.
• The United Nations presented Air India the Montreal Protocol Public Awareness Award for environmental protection, especially in the ozone layer.
• The airline received The Mercury Award for the years 1994 and 2003, from the International Flight Catering Association, for finest in-flight catering services.
