Location
White Haven Estate is located in Chilgarhi, 7 kms away from Kotwali Bazaar in Lower Dharamshala. It is 14 kms away from McLeodganj and 86 kms away from the nearest railway station at Pathankot.

Situated at an altitude of 4500 metres above sea level, in the beautiful environs of Dharamshala, White Haven Estate, a country home hotel is the perfect retreat for city worn souls. It is a country home that dates as far back as 1857 and has been home to the legendary European adventurer Robert Shaw. A fine example of colonial architecture, the wooden floored guest house is surrounded by tea gardens and private forests, providing an ideal ambience for a relaxing holiday.

Flanked by tea gardens, the winding drive from the main road to the estate is enthralling. A narrow yet beautiful driveway leads up to the parking area in front of the hotel. The house is set at an elevation and is accessible by a tiled staircase that is lined with potted plants and trees. The reception is outside, on the left side of the entrance while the lobby is inside, towards the right. There is a formal drawing room as well, which features beautiful paintings and antique furniture. One corner of the drawing room has rows and rows of shelves full of books, a part of the in house library.

Rooms
The country home features 8 well furnished rooms that are divided into 4 Standard rooms and 4 Deluxe rooms. While the Deluxe rooms are part of the main building, the Standard rooms are housed in another wing that lies on one side of the garden behind the main building. All rooms have wooden flooring and offer a clear view of the picturesque valley and mountains that surround the property. Each room is appointed with a television, intercom, cushioned sofas with center table, study table, luggage rack and cupboard. Soft rugs, lampshades and low lying cushioned stools add to the elegant decor of the rooms.

The Deluxe rooms have large windows that offer a splendid view of the mountains while the common sit out area outside the Standard rooms offers an equally pleasant view. In addition to other facilities, the Deluxe rooms boast of functional fireplaces and individual dressing rooms. Washroom amenities are common across categories and include soap, shampoo, shower cap, moisturiser, linen, exhaust fan and a geyser.

Dining
White Haven Estate serves delectable Indian, Chinese and Continental fare in its wooden floored dining hall, which can seat 22 guests at a time. Its distinct decor and large windows ensure that guests enjoy a fine dining experience. A fixed menu is served for breakfast (7 am - 10 am), lunch (1 pm - 3 pm) and dinner (7 pm - 10 pm) while snacks and beverages are served throughout the day.

Services & Facilities
While there are no regular recreational facilities, guests can be innovative and create their own. White Haven Estate offers ample opportunity for nature walks, treks and walks through the surrounding tea gardens. Guests can also relax in the verdant garden, which offers the most beautiful views of the area or read a book from the vast collection in the library.

White Haven Estate also assists guests to hire cars for sightseeing and airport/railway station transfers. For guests travelling in their own vehicles, complimentary accommodation is provided within the premises to drivers and accompanying staff.
