The lobby is an elegant space with high ceilings. It offers a cool and calming refuge from the shining sun. The space is lit with elaborate, elegant lamps and halogen lights. Soft, soothing instrumental music plays in the background. The wood and marble reception sits on the left of the entrance and you will be welcomed by a warm staff. The seating space is populated with glamorous wood and glass centre tables, maroon sofas and pretty green, wooden chairs. The corridors leading to other parts of the hotel are carpeted. A total of a whopping 85 rooms are divided into Superior rooms which are the lowest category, Deluxe rooms and Suites which are the highest category. The rooms are spread out over three floors and the facilities common to all the rooms are cable television, tea/coffee maker, air conditioning, electronic safes, minibar, 24 hours room service, 24 hours hot & cold running water, fruit baskets, wireless internet connections at an extra charge, special Trident branded toiletries, hair dryers and Trident clocks which multi task with MP3 players. There is Travancore Restaurant, which is the 24 hour multi cuisine restaurant that offers a breakfast buffet (7:00 am to 10:00 am), lunch buffet (12:30 pm to 3:00 pm) and dinner buffet (7:30 pm to 11:00 pm). Often the facilities and timings in the hotel are subject to change during off season months. This restaurant is a huge space with ample detailing, spacious counters for a buffet, high ceilings, halogen lights and torch light lamps mounted on the walls. Then there is Patio, which is functional only during the peak months from October to March. This is an extension of Travancore and a picturesque verandah leads out from the restaurant to the swimming pool. Meenachal and Periyar are the two connecting conference halls which can be separated or conjoined with sliding wooden doors that act as a collapsible partition. The halls are both soundproofed. All conferencing and audio visual equipment can be availed at an extra charge.
