Fisherman's Cove Hotel Description

This resort is one of the finest beach resorts in southern India and sprawls over an area of 22 acres of land. The resort has a wide choice of accommodation ranging from rooms with a panoramic view of the Bay of Bengal and the verdant landscape that fringes its shores to the cottages located on the beach set amongst trees and a lot of greenery.

On entering Fisherman's Cove, you step into an open, cool and airy lobby. Complimenting this aura is a cool sea breeze, rustic artefacts and comfortable wicker chairs to relax. You can usually hear soothing instrumental music playing in the background. Connected to the lobby is a glass compartmented seating area with a collection of books. This area features a small business centre with a boardroom. There is a separate pool table in the centre of the lobby as well.

Rooms
A resort with 88 rooms, it has 50 Standard rooms in the main building, 28 Cottages and 10 Villas. The Cottages and Villas are situated in the area surrounding the main building. Spacious Standard rooms offer a splendid view of the landscaped gardens and the open sea. The beach Cottages provide spectacular views of the sea and surf. Stone paths lead up to a porch with a table and chairs into the cool airy rooms. These Cottages enjoy the feature of a private garden shower surrounded by lush green foliage and the whispers of the breeze.

The airy, luxury Villas have their own private sit out area and exclusive garden by the sea. The Villas, situated away from the main building, have a pantry situated outside their area for convenient and prompt service. All the rooms are tastefully done in cool airy colours like greens, blues and yellows. All the rooms also have DVD players, a mini bar, cable television, direct dial STD/ISD facilities, a laptop with wireless connectivity and 24 hour room service. The Villas and Standard Rooms have attached bathrooms with bathtubs and are equipped with various beauty products ranging from soaps, shampoos, conditioners, shower caps, a dental kit and fresh white towels.

Dining
Dining facilities here are plenty. There is the Bay View Point, an open air seafood specialty restaurant on the beach. Local delicacies of the coastal region are offered here and complimentary alcoholic drinks are served for long staying guests. This restaurant can accommodate between 50 to 75 people and is open for lunch (11:30 am to 3:30 pm) and dinner (7:30 pm to 11:45 pm). The Upper Deck is the Mediterranean restaurant which serves everything from risotto to antipasti to pasta. It is open from Tuesday to Sunday for dinner (7:30 pm to 11:00 pm) only. It can accommodate a total of 42 people and also enjoys a champagne brunch on Sundays.

Another inviting feature is the sunken bar attached to the swimming pool called Sunburst. Here, guests can satisfy their cravings for gorgeous views as well as refreshing cocktails. It is open from 11:30 am to 3:30 pm and 7:30 pm to 11:00 pm. Comfortable and scenic, Seagull the multi cuisine restaurant and coffee shop provides a menu of world cuisine mixed with an array of local delicacies from the coastline. It has a live cooking counter where you can enjoy the view of the master chefs cooking up a storm. It enjoys street food buffets on Saturday nights and brunch buffets on Sundays. It is open for dinner only (6:30 pm to 11:30 pm). Finally, there is the Anchor Bar with its stylish paneling, timber floors and Indonesian cane wicker. It provides a fresh and comfortable setting to enjoy an exotic cocktail and is open from 11:30 am to 3:30 pm and 7:30 pm to 11:00 pm.

Recreational Facilities
For complete relaxation and pampering, there is Jive Spa or 'Life Force' where guests can indulge in Indian holistic treatments and programs especially designed to maintain physical, mental and spiritual equilibrium in life. Designed in a minimalist style, the Jiva Spa is equipped with single and double treatment suites, beauty treatment rooms, Ayurveda treatment rooms, meditations and yoga pavilions on the beach and relaxation pools. Yoga instructors and Ayurveda doctors can be consulted. Programs are designed to luxuriously pamper and indulge, heal and nourish, restore and rejuvenate. Blending ancient India wisdom with contemporary therapies, the Jiva Spa offers the best in Indian rejuvenation therapies ranging from Indian aromatherapy massages, time honoured Indian treatments, body scrubs and wraps and signature treatments. A lovely feature is a couple suite massage room with two beds side by side, a Jacuzzi with rose petals and flowers in it and a bottle of champagne. All these facilities can be availed at an extra cost. It is open from 7:00 am to 9:00 pm. This area also has a fitness centre which is open from 6:30 am to 9:00 pm.

The hotel also has a swimming pool, which is open from 7:30 am to 6:30 pm. The attached Sunburst Bar is an attractive feature along with the pool itself. There are croquet and lawn tennis facilities available as well. For the even more adventurous, there are night turtle walks, catamaran rides, crocodile bank visits, beach volleyball and nature trails.

Resort Facilities
At the Activity Centre, children can enjoy a host of activities related to sports, adventure and the environment. This is a tented area and has a waterproof tent in case of rains and it is a cosy, safe place for children to hang around in. Babysitters are also available here.

The resort also has Casurani Halls 1 and 2 that have a collapsible compartment in between and can accommodate 200 to 250 people. Multi cuisine buffets are served here.
