Sarovar Portico Hotel Description

Known earlier as Quality Inn Riviera, this property was recently taken over by Sarovar properties and is now called Sarovar Portico. Although 25 year old, the hotel shows no signs of its age.

Lobby
On entering, the lobby is an intimate little area with a seating space on either side of the entrance and the reception directly in front of the entrance. A wood paneling is present on the walls behind the reception and travel desk. Olive green sofas line the entrance with brown marble top centre tables. A creative and contemporary leaf and flower wall frame hangs on the wall here. The lobby has big halogen lights, wood bars on the ceiling with small light fixtures and marble flooring.

Rooms
The hotel has a total of 69 rooms categorised as 14 Standard Rooms, 35 Deluxe Rooms, 14 Super Deluxe Suites and 1 Grand Suite. The Suites are the higher end rooms with a few more amenities than the Standard rooms. Some of the Super Deluxe Suites are river facing while the others have a view of the main road. The upholstery in all the rooms is more or less the same with brown and beige being dominant.

The Suites have two rooms - the seating area and the bedroom. The seating area has wooden flooring while the bedroom has a cosier atmosphere with carpeted flooring. A television is present in each of the rooms along with a study table. All the rooms have hot and cold running water in the bathrooms, a bathtub and a hairdryer. The services common to all the rooms are cable television, direct dial STD/ISD phones, tea and coffee maker, Wi-Fi connectivity and a refrigerator.

Dining
The Riverview Restaurant is a fun place, which has a magnificent view of the Sabarmati River especially during sunset. It is a multi cuisine restaurant that serves breakfast (7:00 am to 10:30 am), lunch (12:30 pm to 3:30 pm) and dinner (7:00 pm to 11:30 pm). A buffet is served during all three meals as well as a la carte. The restaurant has hookahs as showpieces on a sideboard, contemporary wood and steel tables and chairs with checked upholstery, silver candle stands on the tables and a plasma television screen. The entire space is dotted with plants and huge flower arrangements. Paintings of fruits and flowers adorn the walls as well.

Conference & Banquets
The hotel has a vast choice of conference halls and banquet facilities. It caters to as many as 2,000 people on its outdoor lawn, which is used mainly for large parties or wedding functions. The four halls are Darbar 1 and 2, Mandap and Shiamana. Mandap can accommodate a total of 150 people and has a wooden floor at its centre. This area is often used as a disco during parties and has a touch of retro to it. Shamiana can accommodate a total of 400 people. Mandap and Shiamana are interconnected and can be used together as well. There is a separate entry to these two conference halls from outside the hotel itself. The hotel provides the guests with LCD overhead projectors, markers, whiteboards, chart paper, microphones and speakers along with the conference rooms.

The hotel offers airport transfers to the guests on a sharing basis as well.
